Thanks Strider,

Great response to the questions as well as gift ideas. If I win any kind of lottery my person will get the new Valley Climbers Book, Vertical Revolution by Stonemasters.

Edit: and Thanks johntp, what a great idea and wonderful input. Thanks also for your great comments on some other threads recently, really appreciate, Dude. :D

The best part about last year was seeing someone liked your gift. I hadn't seen so much excitement since my son was 2 and proclaimed that "Santa is sure a nice guy!" It's all about giving a little joy.

You know strider, the holidays are almost upon us and many people, for a variety of reasons, get depressed. Plus, there are still a lot of people out of work or working for wages that barely (or not) make ends meet.

Maybe we could somehow encourage both groups. The later one could know it's ok to send used gifts, like a favorite book from your library or something. Just thinking out loud, lynne

BrassNuts wants to play, but not sure he's found a moment to send an email to you Strider.

He's out being blown around in gale force winds in Eldo today (yikes). Sign him up with my address and all. :)

If he draws my name, be sure to add a note that the gift should involves gems. Haha! :)

Crimpie,

If you would like to sign him up, can you send me another email? I am solely keeping track of participants through the email and it would help make sure there is no confusion.

Thanks

You know Lynne I agree, lightly used or homemade gifts are in a way more thoughtful and they don’t eat up your money. Im a student so money is tight.

It's fun to read your recipient's ST posts to try to figure out a good gift for them - like a detective! For example, it would take only a very cursory reading of my posts and trip reports to figure out that I like a little wine now and then.

But the best part of getting a supertopo gift is the fun of the surprise! What is the worst thing that can happen if they don't like your gift? They'll just put it on the re-gifting shelf and still remember you warmly for the effort!

I'm all in! Last year Lucky Pink got me a cool tripod for my camera. It is magnetic and sticks to the hood of my car.

hey there say, zip....

i'm one, not to regift, too...
there is always some way to use stuff in some way, when it is given to you...

even if you have an exact item, already, you can still use it in other ways... or turn it into something creative...

etc...

it's a special keepsake momento, but then, that's how i feel, as i am a tad on the sentimental side, :)

BUT:
*not meaning bad, as to the other folks, that do so, as:

...perhaps they had been hoping for something "like what they got" just to give to another beloved relative, DUE to a special need or something... :)

Another handful of sign-ups in the past few days. At this point all people who have signed up have been sent a confirmation email.

PLEASE make sure you have received this email and that you have the supertoposanta email address added to your safe senders list.

Thanks to everyone joining in the fun!
