I see you've gone back, edited, and made your posts less offensive "Chongo". Frankly, you now sound more like "poor little innocent me, I'm only concerned about Plaidman's health and welfare". I'm fine with the edits, although it just emphasizes how dishonest you are. People reading this should know that you were significantly more offensive in your original posts, and that's why so many stepped up to call bullshit on you.
your a f*#king ass hole,,, IM NOT TRYING TO BE MEAN TO YOUR BUDDY PLAID,,, get over it you f*#king baby
Yes you were trying to be mean, f*head, and learn to spell. Before you changed your posts, you were trying to put the man down so that you could appear superior to him. As if you were a 3rd grader boasting on the schoolyard, but as the anonomys prick online version. You must be too much of a chickenshit to tell us who you are "Chongo", who you climb with, what you've climbed ? Plaidman has the balls to step up and be honest, warts and all. Who he is, what he's climbed, and how slowly or poorly he's done it:-) Full meal deal. Much more honest and obviously a better climber than you have or apparently will be. For sure it's clear to all of us that he's a better person than you are or will ever be.
Big shot. Coward.

but just like i said if i was on yosar and had to rescue these guys(anyone.. plaidman, hawk, Bill Coe, you, me) because they got benighted on a route they didnt have a skill for
HEY! YOU IGNORANT SLUT! YOU NEED TO BE BITCHSLAPPED!
one can argue that every rescue involves people over their heads. who was the dude that got plucked off nanga parbat recently? a pussy in chongo's eye's? or one of the baddest climbers of the day who happened to get in over their heads?
chongo you are an ignorant moron. i am just sorry that we have provided you any sick entertainment for the nite.

hawk,,, do you just not get it??? plaid committed no crimes,,, i just feel like he got in a little over his head and should maybe rethink some things before he heads back up on a mission like that... but also i just noticed that is was from 2 years ago,,, so hes prolly learned tons of sh#t since then, im the one who commited the crime for pointing out that calling yosar was kinda lame, and if you rope up on the approach to snake dike your probably over you head. i wish someone had been there to tell me when i almost killed my self getting in over my head BITD but i guess no one did since they didnt want to be considered jerk-as#@&%e-chongopussys

All I can say is WOW!!! I nuked the other post I made as per a friends request. I didn't even read the responses, and this one popped up and my thread was resurrected from the dead.
I love climbing and everything about it. Thanks to my friends for posting.
All the best. May we all obtain our dreams. St. Peter's Dome was one of mine.

"We felt like we were on the dark side of the Moon. Out came the cell phone. I called several climbers to ask if they had their guide book to Yosemite Valley handy. Bill Coe told me to call Ben because Bill was driving. Finally I got a hold of Ben and he asked why we needed his guide book. I told him we were lost in the dark on Snake Dike and after he had finished laughing to my chagrin, he walked us through the last pitches of the climb. I also had my wife call YOSAR to tell them that we were fine, just in case someone had told them we were up there. I didn’t want someone wasting any effort checking on us."
Okay so if i hear you correctly that its cool that every evening in yosemite, yosars emergency lines will be tied up with all the benighted climbers calling to let them know they where okay in case they where worried?
shit theres a light on zodiac,,, better call yosar!!!! ive been benighted countless of times in the ditch,,, never really thought werner cared unless it was a real emergency

chongo,
that sounds much cooler than having yosar show up in the middle of the nite to rescue.
in the early days in zions i was climbing something and the rangers showed up at nite with a searchlite cuz i was reported to be in trouble.
some mite conclude that calling the rescuers was thoughtful. but then again the only rescue i have been involved with was of a neighboring party.

hawk,,, are you under the impression that YOSAR automatically goes into rescue mode when they see a light on a climb?
yes tourists are dumb and will clog emergency phone lines with ease, but as climbers we should leave them open for when absolutely necessary,,, i mean this is like going back to the whole spot thing,,, and pushing the help button when not needed,,,
edit: mite bro? really come on and i'm an idiot?
edit again: hawk you dont even f*#king climb youve got 150 pictures posted on this site NOT ONE CLIMBING REALTED!!!! your not even really adding anything to this battle other than the fact you think im dumb because of our differing opinions, and that its cool to call yosar when ever

Yosar doesn't have any emergency lines.
All emergency lines go to dispatch and then routed thru appropriate channels.
Besides if the guy calls to say he's OK so what.
It's way better than a call for distress any day .....

Werner, but if every benighted/late climber called to let you know they where okay, would you guys not get a little pissed off?
My point is that this is not the norm,,,, and prolly not the ideal attitude to carry into the hills,,, but now that its cool to get on routes totally over your head and epic into the dark, guess this will now become the norm, as its obvious climbing has changed from what i remember. as it doesnt matter what the f*#k you do or how much danger you put yourself or those around you in, as long as your psyched and having fun,,, ITS ALL GOOD!!!!
Carry on ya'll

i dont need your approval or anyone elses on this site of me as a climber. i dont give a sh#t who you are. if you bothered to comprehend at all what i and others have stated on this thread then maybe you would begin to get the message.
as to calling yosar, only plaidman can answer that. but the only motivation that one can have for that is to inform YOSAR that they do not need to effect a rescue. is that potentially a noob call? maybe. is it based upon consideration for YOSAR? yes. how many others have done that? if i recall there have been some very experienced climbers who have done that on elcap as well as some very experenced climbers who have taken the rescue.
i doubt very much that their phone lines are clogged all hours of the day. if they are then there is a far greater problem at hand than one call. again you show yourself to be a moron.
