The pub at the trailhead at the start of the approach to Ceuse (the Sector Cascade) in the town of Sigoyer France. I dont recall the name but its the perfect place to throw back a couple steins of lager after a day of climbing on some of the worlds best limestone. Awesome views and big cheap beers......not to mention location, a great motivator to run down the descent trail in a hurry.

BASE401 and nboles,
The National is definitely gentrified and touristy (and I was never there BITD, as my first visit to Cham was around 92 or 93).
Jekyll is still a good place and not quite as touristy as it isn't in the center of town.
As I posted above, the MBC (http://www.mbchx.com/eng%20mbc%20home.htm); is a fine place to hang out and drink. It's also out of the center of town, and generally seems a bit less overrun; I've never had a problem getting a seat. Nice folks in front of and behind the bar. It's no cheap dive bar (guess you'd call it a "nice place"), but you can drink more by passing on the (quite good) food if you want. Definitely one of my favorite places to hang out after climbing.
Monkey Bar is good as well, with really cheap curry dinner specials one night a week (Tuesdays?).
And, obviously, lots of little places to drink wine or beer that are fully off the beaten path.

Definitely second the MBC sentiment in Chamonix - lived there for 6 months and wow I miss their 50c wing happy hour...those are seriously some of the best chicken wings on earth. Their beer is nothing to write home about compared to english/american/belgian craft beer, but hey, it kicks the hell out of Kronenberg!
Also, yes to Divided Sky in Tahoe...oh how I love thee - Brian is one of the coolest guys ever, and his bar feels like a second home. How many bouldering/climbing sessions have ended with an imperial pint of Racer 5, an Edinburgh or Amsterdam sandwich and a arm waving, screaming sprayathon.

Mike m--Hooblie hit the name of the Fishtail tavern, AND threw in a cool story about trying to climb the flume/penstock routes up West Rosebud. Classic, thanks Rick.
Funny that you mentioned that place--two weekends ago my partner and I ended up at the Cowboy Bar after being snowed off of Granite Peak. The old guy owner had passed recently, and the bar was being run by his two sons and daughter, though it looks like she'll end up with it.

Which bud were you heading up? I have been in that country quite a few times but only in winter when climbing so never got too close to Granite. What is the Bar just before you head into the Stillwater. I think I have had a couple in there too.

Mike M , I've been up East RBud and Froze to Death twice before en route to Granite--this time I went up W RBud and Huckleberry Creek to Avalanche Lake.
Up the Stillwater, the bar might have been in Nye or Dean perhaps? I fancied the East Bud for the rock towers with the relatively easy approaches :-)
edit: You take on California Ice while you were there?

Weird .....
After 40 years watching the on goings at the Mountain Room bar you wouldn't believe some of the crazy sh'it that went on there.
One could write a big fat book on that place alone .....

That's a book I would love to read... I've been to yosemite a few times, and have yet to go to the mountain room bar.. Or climb anything there.. Guess I need to rectify both on my next trip there.

Jack's is probably the best bet near Zion, nothing fancy, but I think it's the only one that serves liquor, and not just beer and wine.
Edit-- also don't forget to stop at the Mean Bean coffeehouse... It's a must if
You like java..

Yeah, it was Nye. We did Cali Ice to the summit plateau once. Tried to do Ice Dragons a couple of times but that seems to be a long long walk and just ended up taking the gear for a walk. Climbed ice in all those drainages a time or two. That is some of the coolest country I have seen. There are some pretty nice rock buttress in that country!

Silver Dollar Bar in Cody in the winter when you can't take camping out in S Fork anymore.
Strawberry Lodge Bar too. Haven't been there in many years, but in the 80s was there when Moby Grape played in a come-back attempt. Skip Spence didn't show up till midnight, but then they played till dawn and they were great. Didn't get much climbing done the next day, but a great freaker's ball. I imagine it's a good place now with Petch makin the drinks. A good man.
