Another thought - IIRC, you work for a newspaper, not far from Yosemite. Maybe they'd like to do a piece on the FaceLift, and you could combine business and pleasure? If so, you should let Ken know. The NPS generally likes that sort of thing, plus it might help in other ways.
Nice thought but unlikely. With all the budget cuts including furloughs and layoffs, the last thing the newspaper is going to do is pay me for any efforts on my forced time off.

I'll be in Tuolumne Sat/Sun.
I thought I recalled seeing something about Facelift efforts going on up there.
Wondering when/where to go to get on a crew or something up in Tuolumne (?)

I'll be in Tuolumne for the weekend with Wendy and friends. Work Sat. Climb/hike Sun. Assigned a place in the group site at Tuolumne Meadows. Last year there was an impromptu gathering on Sat eve for din. Prolly happen again. Join us.

Berg, there is a link that the climbing Ranger, Jesse, posted on the "three weeks to Facelift" thread - there are some special teams heading up to the Meadows. He has a full list of what's available and how to sign up on the other thread that MH linked upthread here.
Mal, hope that you're planning to come to the tacofest - I will unfortunately miss your presentation as we are getting in on Thursday. I'm looking forward to seeing you and hearing what Paradox is up to. Keep up the amazing work!
Right now, I'm hoping to get a good chunk of my time requirement done on Friday, and hopefully free up a few hours to climb while we are there. I have all this shiny new aid gear that I don't know how to use yet!

I am glad to see people psyched for the Facelift. I'm psyched, just hope I am awake enough to enjoy it myself. I wanted to mention that after working a long day or days and you want to play in the Park for a day. Come sign in and do what you plan to do and perhaps do a little light duty if you find some trash in the areas that you are enjoying. It will feel good. Thank you all.

For sure, Ken. My girl and I always carry a trash bag anywhere we go, so it's automatic for us at this point. We have a lot of trash and impact issues in Red Rocks, so we try to do what we can.
I am looking forward to being able to thank you in person - if I see you standing still long enough! lol

Oh, dear, Barbarian, I don't remember your RL name ... please help me when we run into each other.
I wasn't planning on bringing any aromas, but I have plenty to share. If there is a type of aroma you like I will be happy to bring some for you. I can whip up a spray or bring you some essential oil. Earthy? Fruity? Flowery? Medicinal?
