I'm out of bouldering in josh pics.

B.B. King's, Harvel's, ... can't place that memory...damn, I AM old!
Tarbuster - "The Central Scrutinizer", 5.12a/b, no pad in sight! Wow! I think those are the only photos I've ever seen of that problem.
Dogfather - never saw that poster! "White Rastafarian", 5.11d, no pad. Can't tell who the climber is though...
Thanks guys... sick stuff!
I can't find the Beaver shot in a magazine yet...I'll keep looking. Can't scan slides yet....otherwise it'd be no problem! cheers, jb

Only got a minute... out of town, busy all the rest.... GOOD STUFF SO FAR!!!!
here is a couple that were floating around on the desktop:
We all tried to boulder this out for about a year... now has 3? bolts? Crux at top, probably 12b/c. This next photo was in a BD catalog of this thing with me whipping off the top, no pad of course... nice! I'll look for it.. Mari Gingery took the photo. Shockley is the dude off to the left in his trademark rugby shirt.
Some guys are just overtrained.... Buttfukelmann at his peak on the Gunsmoke.

The Saturn boulder!!! wow, what a phucking classic that was. hard time going for it on that one...BOLTS??? somebody bolted that thing?? I can't believe it - probably one of the most classic highball testpieces in the Monument!!!
Why couldn't they just use their maxi-pad thingies?
Bruckleman (sp?) looking buff?

Yeah... some gay guys called Russ, Roy, and Doug bolted it.... on lead though.... The top is super balancy and has a grim slab topout... the falls are really nice swingers where ya clang into the underside of the dike. Lets go chop it!!!

Werner,
We were hard back then.... came off probably 25 times... maybe more... not right off the top, but way out there. Pads?? Not invented yet. If the thing was about another 15ft taller, then I guess a pad would be in order for todays soft modern climbers.

JB,
Al Roberts (the voice of the crags) and I were schleppin' around HVC, JT mid week, winter '82. You were going through your routine: spider line, and etc, etc.
You were journaling, I asked what about, you said you were listing the routes covered in your circuit for the day, so you could look at it in later years...
'Got any pages handy?
