I live in landlocked Burbank and have a long history with whitewater kayaking and rafting, I was looking for something to pass the time between trips and SUP Skateboarding has been a welcome addition to my workouts. I live a few houses from a train track that has been turned into a bike path, this has been a perfect late night or early morning workout. Not the same as being on the water by a long shot but still fun.

Now THAT looks like surfing, not SUP. I never said surfing was boring. Just cold, mostly lacking decent waves, and too many as#@&%es in the water!

Oh, did I also mention that it is too damn crowded?

Have done some SUPing in the last few months and must admit that it really is as boring as it looks. Like masterbating on the beach, it's just playing with yourself close to water.

Nice shot o-man.
Sunset?
That does not look boring.
Rather be on a surfboard though.

As ever, you want to be on a boat to catch the wave and on a skateboard to ride it.

Actually, it was a rather epic day at Lanes/Hookipa last winter.
If you follow this link there are more images of that sesh.

There were a few surfers that made it out and got some great waves as well.

SUP = surfer version of gym climbing?

Funny thing is, I could see myself getting a fair bit of use out of one.
