2/22 -- Terri/Happiegirl
Chouniard straigth gate biner
Rock Empire Cam - Black
Camp Nuts - #3 & #4

2/23 -- Ryan Rothacker - Nomad's (He's such a nice a young man)
21' of 7mm cord NEW
Omega Biner Locking
BD Neutrino wire gate biner
#1 Camalot dual stem - older
BD ATC XP belay device
3 BD 60cm Nylong slings - lightly used

2/23 -- Robert Fonda/rlf
8 Nylon tied slings (62" each) 11/16 webbing

2/24 -- locker
8 Trango Flex Cams(almost NEW)

2/24 -- Louie Anderson
4 double-length skinny sewn slings - brand new
2 Mad Rock water bottles

It looks like Sky should be good on slings now. Post up his shoe size and harness size. Locker could probably set him up with shoes, but I may have a harness for him. Is he looking for a comfy (wall-type) harness or something more minimal?

Wish I had not just sold off a bunch of older cams, or I would have had something to offer there too...

Thanks again to everyone for posting up and donating. Let's make sure it all goes to Nomad's in JT:

Nomad Ventures
c/o Robert Fonda
61795 Twentynine Palms Hwy
Joshua Tree CA 92252

This way we have a single point for delivery and pick up. Also we have a tracking point.

Again, a big thanks to the folks at Nomad Ventures for helping out with this. I can assure you, these people work hard down there. There's a hell of a lot more to making a good climbing store than just sitting around talking to customers and taking cash.

Make sure to buy something the next time your in.

I'll have 3 trango cams delivered tomorrow.

I know that I'm just an ignorant dirtbag from Joshua Tree, so I had to look up the definition of "namaste". This is what I found, now I understand:

Yes, be loving, open and trusting, but don't be unrealistic! One can still be loving, open and trusting while being careful. If it helps, remember that many crimes are one of opportunity, and people are sometimes weak-willed. Don't make it easy for such people to fail in doing the right thing.

oh yea and about the question on the steel ovals....i use 3 at the master point on my toprope anchors because it creates a bigger bend that runs smoother and no aluminum wear onto the rope

Let me get home and check, but I've got a steel locker never used, and could pony up a pair of belay gloves (large) if they'll fit. Also, various lockers and non-lockers, slings. Will send tomorrow.

Was a police report ever filled out?

If so, and this thief's sins catch up to him/her sooner than later, you stand a chance at regaining some or all of your gear.

Hate to see this stuff recovered at a rock house and end up at a police auction or end up in the thief's personal belongings bag at a holding cell (or morgue) somewhere.

Slim chances are better than none at all.

Wow- what a bummer. I totally hate thieves with a passion. There's a special spot in my basement of despite for them.

As the donations roll in keep up a wish list of what you still need. I'll root around here and see what we have. What size are you Sky?

Robert- you are a good man.

Sky,

I have a steel locker for ya, if you want, it is yours. I do not know what else you need that I have, do you maybe need a few brass wires?(not offsets though) They have history, and I came easily upon them. I can put a trinket or two on the biner and get them coming if only I knew what pro/trinket would serve you best.

sorry to hear this, sky. remind me to "treat" you to something you need at nomad next time i'm out.

josh has always had a mixture of good and bad karma. i think sky balances out an awful lot of the bad, but don't forget that sign you see at the edge of town: this section of highway adopted by joshua tree drug court. lots of users, lots of motivation for petty and not-so-petty theft.

It is really kind of thrilling to see how much response this thread is producing. For those of us who would be violent, the french have two sayings that are just perfect for this situation:

"Revenge is best served cold"

and

"Your life is my revenge"

I'm going to split up the list into two categories, Donated, and Pledged. Donated means the gear has arrived, pledged means it's on it's way. This way we can keep everything neat and clean and nobody has to worry that their donations didn't get to where it was supposed to go.

So far:

Donated:
==

2/22 -- Terri/Happiegirl
Chouniard straigth gate biner
Rock Empire Cam - Black
Camp Nuts - #3 & #4

2/23 -- Ryan Rothacker - Nomad's (He's such a nice a young man)
21' of 7mm cord NEW
Omega Biner Locking
BD Neutrino wire gate biner
#1 Camalot dual stem - older
BD ATC XP belay device
3 BD 60cm Nylong slings - lightly used

2/23 -- Robert Fonda/rlf
8 Nylon tied slings (62" each) 11/16 webbing

Pledged:
==
2/24 -- locker
8 Trango Flex Cams(almost NEW)
3 Ovals biners

2/24 -- Louie Anderson
4 double-length skinny sewn slings - brand new
2 Mad Rock water bottles

2/24 Fattrad
Lowe Alpine pack

-----------------------------

I'll be heading down to Nomad periodically to help with the inventory of the items so the staff does not have to do it. They have enough to do already.

I will keep updating the list on this thread so everyone knows the score.

Also, if you do not see your Pledged items on the donated list, please speak up. I will do my best to ensure I keep the list updated in a timely fashion.

The goal here is for me to get Sky his gear as quickly as possible. This will likely mean daily trips to Nomad which is a bit of a drive, but very doable.

Thanks again for all the help folks!

Unfortunately I am still building my rack and don't have anything to donate. I think this is a good reminder to mark all of your gear. Because Zac's gear was distinctly marked with rack tags and nail polish I was able to get his gear back.

Sky,if you have not filed a report do so. Check the local pawn shops, ebay, and craigslist. Good luck.

I trully wish I had stuff to donate.
