Boris stays downstairs because with that cone on his head and the XL teeshirt wrapped around him he can't get up the stairs very well. I spent last night on the couch with him and Masha did the night before. He stays real close and is obviously thankful. Surgery that extensive has to be traumatic for a dog. No news from the lab yet and my fingers are crossed on both hands and it is really hard to make coffee with your fingers crossed. My wife and I are really grateful for all the kind thoughts and I wish Boris could know how many people are pulling for him. Thank you.

One thing keeps coming to my mind. Boris is a great friend and companion and his illness has moved me, but in the end he is only a dog. I think of Disaster Master and what he is going through. He is another human being and even though I don't know the guy I appreciate his existence more than my dog. Kind of weird thing to say but it has been on my mind.

hey there say, wayno.... all life is important... if one can't respect the life of a critter, which is training for each young child, or should be, then, it is sometimes, (not always) hard to reach out to the human world...
though, each life may be on different scales as to what these lives give out to others, in families, or the world, each scale should have a place in the human heart...
love you dog... and love othes, as well...
the human heart, is able to do so much for so many...
even folks, a'far off: meaning we can have compassions at home, and still pray and send good wishes to others, and they can all be deep and sincere, as well...
you're doing good...
:)

Ha ha. I know what Boris is thinking Masha, but he would be in for a surprise when he found out just who was going to be dinner for whom. I had to rescue a couple of adult raccoons last week after Mei Fu chased them into our next-door neighbor's yard and had them backed into a corner. I reckon if I hadn't got there in time she'd have shredded both of them.
On the other hand, if Bob's intentions are peaceful, i.e. not food-oriented, she might just accept.
Edit to let Mei Fu have her say. I have to censor it, but after cutting out the cuss words, it was something to the effect that just because he was cute when he was a baby doesn't mean I wouldn't cut him into bite size pieces now...
