You guys have certainly shattered my illusions that when I move out of the tropics I will be free of the critters!

polar bear in the attic? Not this time. But this guy lets his sled dogs
play with polar bears. Watching this clip was thinking,"I've got a real bad feeling about this".

PHIL_B: I'm curious about the mice coming into your car through an air filter behind the glove-box?

Was it a Toyota? I have had mice chew through the cabin air-filter on my 4-Runner.

Years back: I had a very bad night, trying to sleep peacefully with a Golden Mantled Ground Squirrel, that got into my Ford Explorer.

Whenever I was nearly asleep: the the squirrel would run up my torso.

After a nearly sleepless night, for both of us: he flushed out the next morning.

The little bastard!

Fritz,
Just be happy you weren't the commercial helo pilot who got into his bird one
cold winter's morning in N Caroline. As soon as engine temps came up to snuff
he pulled collective and at about 100' the added heat blasting onto his feet
was accompanied by the nice little serpent that had crawled in there the
night before while it was still warm. The poor chap was deathly afraid of
snakes and didn't know his Milk snakes from his Copperheads.
After he crash-landed, and that is being generous, he found out it was a Milk snake.

Great stuff here. Hoping this makes it in Chris' monthly newsletter. :)

Ghost - let's hear how your cats do with the rats. Our cat is a puny six pounds. It's not clear that she's win the battle with an attic rat. :/

hey there say, mtmun.... ooops, i mean:

Just call me Rat Dundee.

i just saw a recent post here... had a nice read... :)

one of chappy's brothers, walter, had a skunk coming in through the cat-door, years back, and surprised them on night (in the guest bedroom, on the side of the house, where the cats ate)....

haha, think they don't USE it any more... :)

glad you got the rat, mtmun (though i know this was old post of yours)...
so--how's it going? :)

when i moved in here, mice abounded (well, somewhat) the five cats took care of it, i reckon--have not seen any since the first 4 nights or so...

:)

*say, tami (i think it was?) wow, love that super cat!

Was waiting for someone to post this. Funniest thing I've ever heard on NPR (with the exception of Terri Gross interviewing Gene Simmons, maybe).

Well worth the listen.

My house just went on the market (time to move to the desert...past time). A few weeks ago there was a bit of scratching up top, but it went away, just waiting. Waiting.

Listing goes up, the thing comes back. Someone, a visitor who hadn't heard the thuds, suggested that it must be a magpie or raven sneaking up under the eaves. Only if magpies come in horse size. This thing must weigh more than me.

It's a good time to curse the 11' ceilings, because it really makes trap door access difficult...
