Werner,
I don't think chanting chakras while using inferior tooling would cut those lines ;)
What do I know though, I have seen video of guys super heating materials using just their hands! This defies modern logic as well.

What's really interesting in all this is the weird vector by which magic spacemen take the place of gods in our mythology.
A century ago and more, whenever we came across something we couldn't explain there were always a solid group who were content to say "God did it." Today those same sorts of people are as likely to attribute the unexplained to magic spacemen, only because we ourselves have managed to take a few baby steps into space and allowed our imaginations to run wild with the idea of extraterrestrial intelligences who, for some absurd reason, have decided to invest themselves in messing with us and our little blue planet, orbiting an average star, on the outskirts of an average galaxy. Magic spacemen have become stand-ins for God and his angels, just as Jung deduced on the cusp of the space age. So von Daniken really kinda got it half right, in a way. But the key to understanding just why this kind of magical thinking appeals to so many people is the real mystery, to me, anyway.

I don't know what those blowhards on the video were blathering about. But Diorite? Granite? The blocks at Pumapunku are SANDSTONE! Any of you people ever climb at Red Rocks right after a rain storm? Or how about Zion? I SURE HOPE NOT! Cuz that sh#t gets soft. We all know that.
You know how easy it would be to work with those blocks if they were wet? Think about how adept at manipulating and carving wet sandstone you could get without the constant distraction of TV, computers, iPhones, the internet, all our precious time-consuming technologies. Jeez.
Just b/c these old civilizations didn't create F-22s, or Apache helicopters, MacBooks, Nintendo, nylon, carbon fiber, etc. doesn't mean they were inept. Let's give some credit where credit is due...

Has anyone thought that maybe those stones were casted (like concrete) rather than carved? That may explain the consistency in the blocks.
Really doubt aliens assisted in building this site, good crew of accomplished master craftsman, and ingenious thinking (which may be lost to us now) probably built Puma Punku.
Now what is was built for? That's another question in it's own right.

Riley,
It would seem I did not express myself succinctly enough in my first post
when I said, "I'm not on the alien bandwagon, mind you, but I am open to the possibility."
It was disingenuous of me to append the last phrase but I just couldn't resist.
Sorry, but I have a hard time being serious all the time.
My subsequent posts, and the one referencing the Moh Scale, are really nothing
more than what they seem- a celebration of the facts: sandstone
is harder than copper/bronze and I find it wondrous that somebody did that
stuff 1500 years ago. That seems pretty relevant to the discussion but I
could be wrong especially if you believe all the things you seem to want to think I inferred.
I'm sorry to disappoint you but I'm afraid I believe the truth is more prosaic than prophetic.
It's just so much more fun skirting the truth with tongue-in-cheek. ;-)

someone brought that up, lith, but it's quarried sandstone, which means it got carved, not cast. that's what makes the blocks so remarkable--they're supposedly interchangeable--tremendous precision. sure would be an interesting site to visit.
