Happy Birthday Jim, been a real pleasure following you on ST the past few years. Be careful with those nurses that Fritz has "loaned out", they can get quite possessive after a spell.

Piton Ron: This photo is "one for the ages."
Would you be the "consummate historian" and put names to all those, somewhat weathered faces?

Ron, don't be too hard on Fritz, Layton's face is in shadow. Thanks again for putting it all together.

Glad to see that Jody's branching out from landscape photography. Hard to top that for a portrait.

Jim actually does smile and here's proof; (joining us is an LK partner from BITD, ST's own Tom Cochrane who gets the ultimate iron man award of the event by driving from Santa Cruz to AZ to the Tushar Mountains performing chauffeur duty to boot. Way to go Tom!)

Ron: Thank you very much for taking the trouble to get those historic photos taken, and posted. They're some of the first that you've posted, which isn't too surprising given that you have only dialup.
Do you downsize the photos to something the ST server likes, before attempting to post them? That is, the originals are probably about 1 MB in file size. Make a copy under a new file name ("Oldies but Goodies 2"), then downsize that copy to around 100 KB. That's the size that appears on the ST screen.
The reason being, that otherwise the ST server may be taking time to down size the photo for you, which may be your logjam. And I bet you've got lots of good photos to show us.
Alternatively, e-mail photos to me and I'll post them for you.

I've been working on a TR most of the day but only got a few pictures loaded.
ST keeps cutting me off at 100% loaded.

Whee - like the good old days, when I circulated paint by number information on posting photos.
Ron:
1. I assume that you have a (computer) mouse.
2. Move the cursor on your computer screen so that it is over the photo, then right click on the mouse.
3. A drop down menu will appear.
4. The bottom line of the drop down menu should be "properties". Left click on it.
5. Another box will appear - it may have three 'tabs' along its top. If so, click on the left one, which should say "general".
6. The information that appears will include "size" and "size on disk".
7. If it says the photo file size is in the range of 800 KB - 1 MB (possibly with exact measurement in brackets), that may be the problem. It essentially means you're trying to feed the ST server something that it can't easily digest, given slow communication between the computers.
So if the photo size is 800+ KB, that may be the problem. Check and report back. If so, then we can next cover how to downsize the photo, preferably without losing the original high resolution version.

OK, turns out that Ron may have a Mac. Can someone tell him how to check a photo file size on a Mac, please, preferably in clear, simply English?
