Hey Mark,

Huge Congrats! Your "digging a hole motivational program" seemed to work out just like clockwork. As it turned out you did not have to change your name! You have come full circle and can now go have a couple of beers and sit looking at pics. There are some awe inspiring spots on tribal rite. The carrot, the pitch above and of course the bivi two pitches below the top. Hope to meet you someday in the valley. Until then climb hard and safe.

Cheers,

Doug

Thanks to all,

Kurt, yeah, you can say the again. It was the most supremely relaxing, calming, and right feeling thing I've ever done.

Amazing job. Most folks would be tempted to solo something shorter and steeper for a first go. Can't wait for the TR.

Because of foreshortening, that portaledge looks like a 14 foot long haulbag in your picture! Foreshortening is a bear on El Cap!

Peace

Well, let's see.... portaledge bag = 14 feet. Angle of the Dangle divided by the Cosine, multiply by the Fressel, that puts me at about 9 feet tall. Yeah, that's about right.

BTW I am short but I AM the world's smallest Giant.

Outstanding, Mark.

Pretty funny inside reference on sponsors, too. How many pounds of coffee did you comp yourself?

I comped myself two pounds but also gave away ten pounds to various friends, new and old. Yeah, Hood River Coffee Co. has been, very, very good to me!

Did a hike in the rain the other day and ended up at the coffee kiosk at Multnomah Falls. The HR Coffee banner is flying proudly there.

When you get your pix together, it's time for a show in PDX. Make sure to bring some from BITD, too.

Great Job Mark! Big congrats! I like how you make it sound like an effective rejuvenating/restorative retreat, rather than a hardwork epic.

Mark -

Good on ya!!!

Tried to get to the bridge to "Reward" you!!!

Sent a couple of 6packs of Cobras that way to intercept you.

It was fun seeing you up on a route from the distant past!!

Congratulations!!
