Since LEB asked...

This is Stella a year and a half ago on new years day when it was 70 degrees out at the Gunks. She's a good old girl who's away at "doggie camp" in the dacks with my man right now. I was working really long hours and I live in NYC and I was feeling guilty having her indoors all day... I miss her terribly, but I see her nearly every weekend, and usually for 3 days at that, so not too bad... now I'm going to feel guilty when I finally get her back and take her away from her life of leisure in the mountains and her buddy Rocky! I got her when she was about 4 (about 6 years ago) from the shelter; she'd been there for 6 months and nobody wanted to adopt her because she was older and she had heartworms. The heartworms are gone now and she's just the best thing I've ever done in my life...

Stella shortly after getting over her heartworms - yay for hiking!

And here is the boy that keeps her young, Rocky. Oh, how he torments her!

Edge - AWESOME Corgis! My family's had them since my Mom was a kid...love to see their happy faces. Current one is "Chester", I'll have to see if I can dig up a postable photo.

Love all the other pups too, a nice post to see today with all the sheity news out there.

LEB, most Aussies are born with naturally bobbed tails.
I definitely think that my next dog is going to come from Aussie rescue; having gotten a taste for the whole velcro-herding-dog thing from my Stella Bella (half BC/half lab/chow mix), I think I'm ready... plus those red merles are soooo beautiful!

My mother has a couple of silly persians, so I'll have to find some pics of them somewhere so that everyone can laugh at their ridiculousness.

David I love Deuce!! He is so handsome!!

This one is for all the lab lovers out there... I love this photo! Zooey, my exboyfriend's dog (who was, by extension, my dog for three years). Last I heard, she had cushing's disease and had gone to live with his retired parents because he couldn't be home to let her out every couple of hours, and her future wasn't looking too hot. I was too heartbroken to hear that to even call or email him for updates. I like to imagine to myself that it was just a misdiagnosis and she's still doing fine because the alternative (reality) is too much to bear thinking about...

My guys have all been to snake training too.

But not like Sister's.

This Guy:

has taught my Dogs everything there is to know about rattlesnakes; Leave Them Alone.

Really works, and I use them to "clear" rock, wood, and stick piles in the yard before I go sticking my hands in there.

This is Scooby. We took him to the crags for 15 years. He was my buddy for sure. I had to put him down last August after a long battle with hip dysplasia. Too bad they don't live forever...
