Robb, that’s the Red Cross’ backpack model packed RBC machine! When they go on the road for a blood drive they can bring a couple of those wherever! It sucks yer blood out, spins out yer RBC’s, and pumps the remainder back into you! Pretty awesome technology. The only downside is yer blood is cooled when it goes through the machine so when it pumps it back into you you get a tad hypothermic. I’m a big boy and I got pretty chilled - a small person could get quite chilled. But they bring blankies. 😊

ah! sorry for the confusion. Came across that photo from last year and it seemed to tell a story. Heart attack was Jan 3, 2018 and 10 months later I'm better off than I was on Jan 2. Few bionic parts and I take better care of myself now.

Appreciate the good wishes above.

Apparently the city of Santa Fe wants people who can't read to be able to find the library.

edit: latest FAA order re fixed wing external loads in alaska specificly:
https://www.faa.gov/documentLibrary/media/Order/Order_8400.34.pdf

Boats and canoes should be carried partially inverted with the stern
forward to provide smoother airflow around the tail of the aircraft

ya, seats six eh?

i asked an alaska fish and game officer
about a dinkey little holster fastened to the external fuselage of his aircraft.
he pointed to the bear spray in his belt in an equivalent holster saying "we carry this stuff,
but to rely on a crummy piece of plastic trigger could turn out to be a fatal decision
should there be an in flight discharge inside the cabin."

that's a gov't reg that sounds ok by me

MMCC: that's a great shuttle lift, i hope it's to position those bikes and riders atop a terrific 10k descent

Hooblie:

That is pretty common in Alaska. Most float planes have storage compartments in the floats, and the bear spray goes in there. When we flew up there, we duct-taped the bear spray to the step outside for the same reason.
