Moss on the Falls
penultimate installlment
As the summer progressed, the number of Moss’ on-sight solos grew. If it was under 5.12 he would take it on.
He told Chongo one time that he was sure of his abilities at the level of extreme 5.11. Any routes that were rated harder were not on his tick list, because they seemed to require some tricky stuff he knew was best done with an inspection, at least. But that was simply not his way.
His confidence at the level at which he chose to climb was supreme, Chongo thought, and Werner agreed with him. And Moss preferred cruising a route, not puzzling over moves, he said, climbing at a single speed with only a few rests to enjoy the view and take a photo with his cell.
It also needed a partner, which he was now avoiding. He was at his peak. He was not top dog, nor did he want to be. He just wanted to climb every day. And so the summer passed, the heat crescendoed in mid-September and he still climbed every day, mostly. Otherwise he just hiked up canyons and gullies.
One day he made a complete traverse of the Valley Rim from El Cap to the Leaning Tower, summiting on everything he could along the way—Eagle Peak, North Dome, Basket Dome, Mt. Watkins, Cloud’s Rest, Half Dome, BHOS Dome, Quarter Domes, Starr King for the heck of it, Glacier Point, Sentinel and Sentinel Dome, Taft and Dewey Points, the Inconsolable Buttress, both the Cathedral Spires, all three Cathedral Rocks, and the Tower, all in less than a day.. This was unlike anything anyone had done and it caused a small stir in the press rooms and media centers around the state. He took a rope, small diameter, and a harness with rappel device and some spare slings to get down.
This small notoriety brought big changes in Moss’ life, as I will explain in the final installment.

Fairly recent headline that won't ace out all the gun news (but it's a start).
I don't make this stuff up. Just the facts. Trust me. And thank God I'm Friday and I love my job and my badge. My gun is a tool, as well.
I was a small-town cop from Truth or Consequences, NM, and I love facts.
For instance, it's a fact that my brother's family moved to Joe, MT, to celebrate Super Bowl XVI for the whole year. He manages a Friday's restaurant, too. Blow your mind? You should see his hot wife!
William "Bill" Gannon, is my partner, and he is from Augusta, KS; in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Back to the Future, for a 24 hour-period starting on July 3, the town of Augusta, Kansas became Hill Valley by proclamation of Mayor Matt Childers. "Hill Valley" also hosted a day-long festival, complete with a cookout, a screening of all three BTF films, and, naturally, a Marty McFly-lookalike contest, and a Dragnet Marathon on TV to celebrate the fact that it was the weekend.
It's a fact, believe it or not!

I wonder if Chaz watches Battlebots. Yesterday evening was my first viewing of this show. There are better things to see, but not many, on the tube. I was amused for the hour and amazed that such a following has come together over this.
One of those bots probably costs at least as much as a new pair of the latest Nike basketball shoes. And just as beneficial to mankind.

So to those who can't find cliffs in the woods: there is a big lake in southern CT
Some thing 4 hundred feet tall in New Haven ? Or is it in Hartford ? I don't know?
The places you can find is where Togo to practice climbing before climbing
stay off the cliffs where the climbs there are free climbs or projects to be saved for free accents.
if you can find them, the scrappy short cliffs (after all I hide them every night.) are where
the person looking to Aid climb in CT? Should start. Also We mostly top rope everything here
On a tight rope - that is aid.
