those are grinding holes and a metate(not sure if THAT's what you wanted to know...).
I just stumbled on this cool little zone out in nowhere in Cochise Stronghold. I saw a cave and a flat open area in a place where there are very few flat and open areas. I just knew (felt) it had to be a native american site.
Sure enough, as I looked around I found a few metates(the square hole). The rock held in the hand to do the grinding is called the "mano"- didn't find any of those.
This area has a very rich (and bloody) history, and an amazing vibe.

Jefe...thanks for the explanation....I was leaning towards UFOs. The reality...much more moving.
