What puzzles me is the vitriol and the hate that you have for anyone who is not of your political persuasion.

This is where you misinterpret me. I dispise the ideology, not the people necessarily. I get along fine with many moderate lefties. I can even respect where they're coming from. But now is not the time for liberalism. It is a time of fiscal coservatism.

Throw the social sh#t out the window for now, it's irrelevant at this juncture.

Not that you give a shite, bluering, but if you look through all of the posts in this thread (or any other, for that matter), you won't find a single post that wishes skipt would return. Wes, fattrad, FortMental...there have been at least one or two (if not a bunch more) wishing that one or all of these three would eventually return.

Not so with skipt. Not a single supporting post for skipt. Virtual unanimous views that skipt was an unstable source of enduring negativity, with virtually no redeeming features to this 'community', or ST as a whole.

Except you, bluering. You champion him, and believe there was a conspiracy against him (and GOPsters, in general). That says an awful lot about you, bluering, and probably not in the way you'd hope.

The likes of Dr.F, Fort mental, Jhedge etc. are the best thing that ever happened for conservatives.

The ratio of views to posts is in the thousands to one.

I'll give them every opportunity to spew like eight year old's, and they always rise to the bait and swallow the hook.

All you have to do to reduce them to a spittle spraying fit is post three irrefutable facts in a row.

If their IQ's are 420 enhanced,

How will Austerity and spending cuts help the economy and unemployment??

Please answer this simple question, since its at the base of your convictions

Do you understand anything about their economy and social structure? They retire early and the unemployment rate of sub-25 year-olds is over 25% (or there about).

Nobody does anything, yet everybody is sucking the gov't dry! If you can't see how we're headed there, you're foolish. You can only 'soak the rich' for so long like the Greeks did before the house of cards falls. Collapses.

Or course the brats in street are angry! They had it so good for so long and now austerity??? I gotta get a job?

We're going there...

EDIT:

Except you, bluering. You champion him, and believe there was a conspiracy against him (and GOPsters, in general). That says an awful lot about you, bluering, and probably not in the way you'd hope.

I hope you don't think I give a f*#k of what you think of me. Don't waste your time.

So you agree, spending Cuts will not Help the economy

Its all a Political BS
Spending cuts will just make things worse

And we are doomed if the Republicans get control of the economy

I never said that. But you have to couple major spending cuts with new jobs and incentives to get the lazy youth off their asses and expecting handouts!

You can only tax the rich so much, Johnson! At some point you have to reign in spending and greaten the GDP.

While, I would agree that skipt's remarks to jstan were out of line, they are hardly unique or noteworthy here on ST. This sort of stuff happens all the time.

No, Lois. It does not. It happens all the time with people who post inane, agitating, and otherwise abrasive remarks but it does NOT happen to people who are respectful, humble and polite in their discourse.

So many people here are handing me the keys to the Kingdom, it is foolish of me to say anything. Unfortunately, I don't want any keys of this sort. I want people to feel they have the discipline and courage each to hold the keys to their own lives. This does not come when one is constantly outraged, has lost all reason, and feels no need to treat others as well as they themselves want to be treated.

I once had a direct report who wanted only to sit at his computer generating flaming emails all day saying how stupid his customers and coworkers were. This is what I counseled him. I told him a flaming email is a direct admission that you are unable to handle yourself. If that is so, who would be so foolish as to take seriously anything you say? You have already removed yourself from the picture. I also told him to go ahead and generate the emails if it helped him - but do not send any of them. My advice was never followed. Since it was never followed there, I will not repeat the counsel here.

I like to think learning is still possible.

Edit:
In response to Couch below.

I like to think it is still possible for me to learn.

Einstein is quoted as saying something like - doing the same thing twice but expecting different results is insanity. I was saying I did not intend to do that here. But of course, I actually gave the counsel. I love the bit about judges telling a jury to disregard something they just heard. Killer funny!

I have said before I like to leave logical easter eggs in messages. So it is possible to find humor or a buried insight as a sort of reward for thinking the message through.

Good advice, but we're not that stupid, John.

That's all really comfy and fuzzy inside unless you're attacked. I agree there is a time to restrain yourself, but if that's all you do you lose way more than peraonal freedom, you can lose a country when these pervasive liberal thoughts pollute a society, when you constantly give way to feelings instead of established rights.

I feel like you're twisteing the 2, John. You're confusing them.

We should be nice to each other whenever possible, but when disrepected or demeaned, that will not stand in my tiny little world.

I had all kinds of asterisks thrown at me, and some pretty nasty stuff from yourself. I responded as above. No asterisks. You replied without asterisks just above.

Progress?

You seem to forget one thing. If one is not determined to kill another person, it is best to treat them respectfully. You are both citizens of the same country and that person may be the one person you desperately need help from tomorrow.

That is what a country is.

I don't think Blueie read it slow enough Jstan. Seriously, you often have good words, good ideas and good intentions that you lay out with too many words. Doug Buchanan was worse at that of course, but I often agreed with his message. Unfortunately, getting to the message was often too much work. So this is on you John. Less words for Blueie, who's a good person.

ie, learning is possible, but you need to be clearer most of the time. Like this, very succinct and clear:
"If one is not determined to kill another person, it is best to treat them respectfully. You are both citizens of the same country and that person may be the one person you desperately need help from tomorrow.

That is what a country is. "

Thanks, very succinct: perfect!

Best to all.

Haha, old-timer, I knew you were cool. I agree 100%!!!

And, yeah, we need to fix sh#t - and do it together. We will agree on that, bra!

You know I dig ya, right? I have been harsh in some e-mails, but I meant it. I'm passionate. You, are more polite.

I still dig ya, John. Don't take too much offense.

EDIT: John, you realize I use "old-timer" as respectful, I hope. One of the 'originals".

You, are more polite.

And smarter. And nicer. And more thoughtful. And more skilled. And more patient. And more respectful. And more dedicated to the craft. And more dedicated to the community. And more valuable as a contributor. And more historically significant. And I'm getting carpal tunnel. And the lurkers get my point.
