A blast from the past.

Gnome, I'm not sure what the problem is, of course, up-or-downloading pix.

The Doctor and the norwegian are little help, as you can tell.

Purple gunk from a bottle? Respitory illness in your family, too?
Hope it's just seasonal.

I knew this album was gonna be special.

Also, as to respitory illness, Amyjo said this, too.

The Essig Brothers discuss much. They are owners of The Partisan Bar on Main Street and the 17th Street Public House on Main Street.
Neither are what you'd call Weekend Warriors. Monday nights are fine, though.

makes me think of the similarities of deeply held and cherished experiences away from the rocc, that many of us must share.

We prefer the word "cabal" to "inner circle."

And "coteries" are for the ladies, dans mon livre.

So I went out to shoot the train today.

I got to R Street and the old tracks between 16th and 15th before the sun went down and set up next to the train tracks.

It was pleasantly warm.

A few passersby stopped passing by to remonstrate.

One man said he'd seen spirits down that way.

He and I were looking southeast towards the old depot and the Yosemite Area Rapid Transit/Greyhound depot.

I openly scoffed and said that, no, my camera didn't have the ability to shoot spirits when he asked about that.

I then told him of a time back in the late 1800s and early 1900s when the area over on 16th was a rough-and-tumble place, an open city, as some described it.

Drunks abounded.

The newspapers here (the Argus, the Sun, the Star) often notified readers of the death of yet another poor sot who was the victim of a train.

Deaths from a mangled body were fairly common.

The dude left and some time later Dickie came by.He claimed to sleep nearby--over in the freeway right-of-way, I think he meant, but he was not clear and cogent, shall we say.

He said that the trains drove him bats because he could not sleep well.

Well, duh!

I told him that I'd lived part of my young-young life in Redding next to the tracks that ran through both Redding and Merced, and that I knew his pain.

He waved his hands in the southeasterly direction and said something like a professor of architecture might, only he waved his hands so much it really did distract me.

He told me the ballast stones were blowing out from the speed of the high-ballin' trains.

It's normal, I told him.

It's gonna get someone killed, he said. And he pointed at himself.

I just said Otay and he left in a happy frame of mind after we'd introduced ourselves to each other.

Then the train arrived from the northwesterly direction and when its engines came flying by I grabbed the tripod and camera and turned out from the tracks.

When I had my back to the blast of wind caused by the train's passage lasted well over a minute after it Its force had knocked my hat off, but it just lay there until I'd got some pics of the receding train.

I had forgotten how much of a thrill it is standing next to the locomotive as it comes hell-bent for Fresno and points south.

People gotta live and pollute somewhere.

Looking at all that flat stuff, goin' all the way to Red Bluff.

Reminds me of just how many folks have never had any
Experience at elevations much higher than a few hundred feet.

They've never taken a hike longer than a few city blocks,
or traveled further than the city bus will take them,
and never will.

And it makes the climber in me happy...
and the teacher a little sad.

See?

Inter'sting story...
I was looking for "cabal" related items on the net.
Came across the link to the Kelly Gang film checking under caballero.
That led to this, eventually, to make a long inter'sting story short and suck'stinkt.

And now I'll be gone a few hours...I'm watching Star Wars/Threads of Destiny, which happened to show up on the tail end of that last trailer.

Me with, . . .. I'm almost normal . . . Me without is abnormal.

There is so much snow and ice to clear around my abode that I tore some thing in my

upper abdomen under the left rib cage. It hit like a cramp when I lifted and tried to

straighten up from my shoveling toil.

It feels like a twist of . . . hey post up 'A Simple Twist of Fate', please,

I have not the patients is that the wrong spelling ? prolly is lazy and bad spelling too.

5 To ten below tonight , I used to love this siht, my old climbing partner , the one who has Ms and more friends then I, of all ages,
(damn bad form starting a sentence using the word:) Many ex vets, some in thier nineties, can get out in the cold or he used to, Now he too is old and we have not spoken since the holidays I fear his symptoms are attacking his systems it is a cruel illness and more so for a climber who pounded iron in the seventies.. His name is Jon Anderson a tall blond, proud son of Norwegian stock!
With a sharp wit, it was he who insisted that I use my moniker, GNOME OfTHE DIABASE.

Mouse his writing is incomprehensible, really amazing and he knows it sorry if he is lurking but I doubt he iis and if so Jon Phones work both ways dude, same with E mail .

the climb Crazy Cat in a Bandanna, CCB is his FA on what we called Hibernia, after the first Anglo settlers of the valley this maintaining my persona is still important although today I threw it out as it were if any one cares I will go fix that now. . .

By way of a test the nexy uploadz as da boyz in Gaza or really Giza but that like the tank of the chevy truck don't rhyme as well as Dodge and hopeless truedat in Gaza.

WE hail from Spitz, and the wife's family from Gratz, Austria.

As for Dah f. dada,
his farm or grandpa's farm, really it was here:
( pics of great grand dad leon Spitz,(2) The view of the hillsides of the river market town of Spitz, taken from a river cruise ship,HInderhaus in Spitz,. . . .///

test fail as you see I have some stuff that you can see but not from me cause the smiling fake Frontier Buffalo that is a bison will not play nice with Cmac's servers of some techy shite about slow up and down load speeds.Fdit It took three days to get half of what I wanted Said and shown . . . Boo Hiiss!

it is bad enough that I can Not share these, worse is that the Fair Gypsy posted
"All Hail Lennon and Marx" over on the camp4 pics thread . That album is one, that forty years on, I can still recite verbatim, ( not verbate um) like gospel or the Kol Nidrea,http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4955739 the morners Kiddush, or the prayer for the dead in the old testament not that I have any jewishish, roots my friendz.

Probably why I am attracted to the flames, Catholic guilt for not being any of the above.
