elections in iran legitimate; in honduras? not so much:
"Honduras was the original "banana republic," and its poverty remains extreme. Close to half the population lives on two dollars a day or less, and the country has not yet recovered from the devastation caused by Hurricane Mitch in 1998. The International Fund for Agricultural Development put it this way: "Rural poverty in Honduras is among the most severe in Latin America. Approximately 53 percent of the population is rural, and it is estimated that 75 percent of the rural population lives below the poverty line, unable to meet basic needs. The country still has high rates of population growth, infant mortality, child malnutrition and illiteracy. These and other social and economic factors reflect its status as the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, after Haiti." Yet on Thursday the United States announced a cut of $30 million in aid and more aid cuts are in the offing. All this to shoehorn back into power a man whom the Supreme Court of Honduras voted, 15-0 (and 9 of the 15 were members of Zelaya's Liberal Party) had violated their constitution."
ok, maybe barry isn't really planning his own socialist "remaking" of america...maybe he's just stupid
and what does he have on the clintons to keep hillary in line?

Dr. F wrote: Every problem we now face, which were all created by the Republicans, is now Obama's fault
Funny how Reagan inherited Carter recession a year after being in office but Obama caused this one from his first day office according to Fox News and the republicans.
How does that work?
How will the republicans spin this one...even the WSJ is licking it's wounds.

Corniss, we're not looking to you for sane commentary, rather kooky right wing blather. So start laying it on will you, or I'm going to have to stick you back into that corner along with LEB and others.
Hey, and what about our girl Palin sleeping around with negros? Not that's some emotional dynamite for youz crackers, no? Let's hear it for Palin.
Time for a golf message . . .

Yeah -- Obama is a "moderate" with buddies like these:
Van Jones:
Only 'Suburban White Kids' Shoot Up Schools...
'We've never seen a Columbine done by a black child'...
"9-11 was an inside job."
"The green agenda is just the beginning, leading to total revolution."

It is amazing. The liberals told us that Obama was a moderate. Yet his main mentors/advisors/influences (Wright, Ayers, Alinsky) are hard-left anti-American radicals.
Now Obama has appointed Van Jones -- a self-avowed communist who has been arrested twice, thinks whites are poisoning blacks, and is a 9-11 truther.
Sooooooooooooooo, all you libs out there -- is Obama reeeeeeeeally the moderate you said he was?
I. Dont. Think. So.
To watch the man Obama thought should push "green" (i.e., communist) jobs -- here are some videos of Van Jones. Watch if you dare: http://powerlineblog.com/archives/2009/09/024438.php?format=print
"Environmentalism" = "Environmental Justice" = "Social Justice" = "Socialism/Communism" ---- you just have to understand the code words these people use.

Largo,
Still no comments on my health care suggestions made up-thread?
The evil one
Sorry Fats but I must have missed it.
I'm totally hit and miss on this thread. Once blue busted out of the corner it's not as much fun. I've been trying to bait people with the "Palin sleeping with negros" song and dance but no takers. This thing is most fun when people get really silly - and insist we believe same, or that the silliness is the actual truth instead of mere perspective.
We need a new bone to chew on. Jstan will have to post some moe screwly stuff on golf message or 100,000 dollah bunyan surgeries.

fattrad, most of your proposal sounds like 'the all-new cherry flavored kool-aid'. Not really anything new. Still for-profit insurance company/employer driven. That's not change I can believe in. (I still think you'd make a good dogcatcher, though.)

Never work, fats, becasuse the main problem is that the capitalist model has turned American medicine into a business and a cash cow that is draining WAY too many resources.
The fundamental question: What is more important - providing healthcare for the nation in an equitable and sober way, or maintaining the American medical profession as a profit-driven cash cow in which prices are vastly higher, per service, than anywhere else in the world.
Medical costs are going up here in America and there is no indication they are going down. Of course the inflation is not sustainable. What do we do, wait till 25% of the GPA goes to the medical establishment? 35% 50%
This business of posponing socialized medicine is screwy in my mind. We're the last industrialized nation who think - at least some of us - that profit-driven medicine is sustainable.
In ten years people will read this thread (oh Lord!) and wonder about the foot dragging per socialized medicine. That's a fact I would bet my life on.

The Liberal rush to immediately abort babies is the shocking bit.
Why the rush? Uh..Perhaps the evil pleasure they get doing murder?
So why the Liberal dichotomy in killing the young and lying about saving the old with this Government Health Care push?
The Government Option is thankfully dead. Next weeks speech by the President will be more of an eulogy that a plug for his vaporware plan.
The next 3 years will be fairly calm as he's used up all his ammo.
Gob bless him!
