And who said I had a theory that conservative crackers "hate" blacks, Rochester? Conservative crackers don't have the capacity to be TOLD anything from people who think, look, act, talk and feel differently than they do. This is the earmark of the stuck, inflexible individual, the one that gets hostile when threatened with sweeping and forced change. And that's the defining charicteristic of the far right: paranoia about change, and hostility when threatened with it.

Prove me wrong with examples . . .

Do I have examples of conservatives that can be told anything by people 'who think, look, act, talk and feel differently than they do'?

Yeah I can be told, but that doesn't mean I have to accept it.

What the f*#k kinda question is that? It's ridiculous. If I don't accept it, does that make me intolerant and 'stubborn'? I gotta accept everything when I feel it's utter crap?

Bullshit!

And yeah, when confronted with change I don't believe in, I will dissent and sometimes quite rudely if warranted.

Jeebus, Blue, how many times do I have to stick you back in that corner?

You've gone back down queer street with what the psychologists call "all or nothing thinking," also known as a thought distortion. Namely, your use of the world "everything."

No one's directing EVERY aspect of your cherished life, least of all Obamma - that uppity negro socialist pinko foreign-born closeted Arab Muslim proto-African faux-Yank we got saddled with after all them Golden Years with George W.

The point is with you inflexible old cuffers is that you can't be told ANYTHING by no left wing negro without flying into a rage. It doesn't matter WHAT you're being told, it's that you're being told at all. Now we all know that's the plain and simple truth of it. Admit it and you can take off the pointy hat but you have to stay in the corner - for now.

Now how about that crack about Caribou Barbie. Fact is, that article was just as biased and distorted as right wing spew. It's alright for us to lash each other on this harmless thread but we're all family and everyone gets an equal vote here. But when you take the national stage (and Vanity Fair is the national stage), you have to strive after more objectivity and detachment. That guy was out to publically ridicule Palin, and that takes no sack at all. The woman's hot. Admit it. Who here wouldn't do her in a heartbeat. I mean how about those custom spectacles!

Now Jstan, that shite about message golf is just off the charts. As we all know, every hacker aspires a "nice stroke," and apparently, some have found it after all.

Did we all not know that the drug companies are totally corrupt and rotten on the business end of things? The horror stories are legion. They do everything but give the docs a happy ending, but apparently, even that's changed. And all the while we hear about how all those profits go right back into "research" for the very drugs that will keep you loved ones alive.

Problem is that it's half true.

Jeeeez, this realy is the greatest show on earth!

And you wonder why I assume that you assume all 'cracker conservatives' hate black people...

Alright, now you're getting nasty and implying that I'm racist and don't like black people in high authoritative places.

As I said, it's not that he's black. I disagree with him philosophically. Do I have to accept his policies? I'm a bigot and intolerant if I disagree on a philosophical basis?

Don't get me started on his 'green-czar', the black militant Marxist.

Did we all not know that the drug companies are totally corrupt and rotten on the business end of things?

Yeah, everybody knows that. Part of the reason they need to be reeled in and regulated to some degree. FDA???? Non-existent and incompetent.

(So...,

Did the judge make you take Cognitive Self Change too? You point out a lot of thinking errors, just like they did there...)

Now the "judge" bit is pretty damn funny. Actually the "judge" were my kids and they made me stop everything but screwing off on this thread.

But seriously, it's a fascinating thing to get really dialed into how people communicate and to see where the agendas get smuggled in via the energy behind the words or through thought distortions and language shenanagans. The ones you have to look out for are those who have real suave diction and phrasing and rich word choice. The bile is still lurking in there but it sounds so legit you have to look closely to see the swindle. Case in point, many politicians who have speech writers.

Okay, Blue. Out of that corner and bone up on Honduras.

Are you being sarcastic here, or just hypocritical?

Hmmmm......

I agree about the politicians though. Our Congress needs a house-cleaning, both sides of the aisle.

Wes -wouldn't you say that race baiters like Van Jones have no business advising the President?

Hint: correct answer is 'no business'. Did the Liberal mindset
had difficulty figuring that out? Apparently.

i'm gonna let ya'll in on a little secret here-

yes, the pharma conglomerates and the big multinationals make their largest margins (by far) right here in the US market, not only because we DO NOT have a single payer system, but because the federal gov. made it illegal for themselves(!) to negotiate for a better price, based on their huge volume...

and yes the huge insurance companies get fat on excluding "pre-existing conditions", and raping anyone without the buying power of a large group...

but that's not the secret!

nor is the fact that they all spend lavishly on their friendly senators and congressmen, hoping to quash any significant and/or legitimate health care reform, and keep their gravy train rolling for as long as possible...

nor is the fact that both republicans and democrats alike are feeding at these (ample) troughs...
(though in truth, there may be a slim majority in both houses of congress willing to push reform through via the reconciliation option which would inset the public option in th efinal bill, after only the house bill includes it in the original legislation, thus allowing it to pass the senate with just 50 votes and a nod from joe biden)

no, those are not the secret-
everyone knows those things.

the secret is this:
those are just excuses.
those are but smoke screens.

the real reason republicans don't want health care reform to pass is because they know it will work, especially if it includes "a robust public option".

why all this garbage about a "public option" equating to you and i giving up our very freedom?

why so much hostility and anger and racism and out-right, blatant, obvious (i.e. just silly) lies?

look back 2 pages on this thread to fatty's post about how he would fix health care and see his very 1st item- "phase out medicare" - that's your 1st hint!

republicans DO NOT WANT government programs that work, and that people actually like and depend upon! (seriously, what the hell happens to the elderly in this country if you "phase out medicare"? you won't need any death panels, that's for sure!)

you see, any government run programs that people actually like, that people want, and people depend upon are in direct conflict with and in opposition to the republican theory of government, as crystalized by the singular modern republican icon- ronald reagan: "government cannot solve the problem, government IS the problem!"

but watch these town hall meetings ans notice what happens when they ask who wants to give up medicare!

people like medicare.
people depend on medicare.
americans need medicare- just ask them, whether you like it or not, that's what they all say!
(that's why it's the "3rd rail of politics", politicans don't dare touch it!)

RONALD REAGAN WAS AGAINST MEDICARE
fatty (and all the other wingnuts) would LOVE to see it "phased out" (along with every other government program)

DEMOCRATS passed medicare
DEMOCRATS passed social security
DEMOCRATS passed the og GI bill

and what happened?
americans rewarded them with decades of national political dominance

what will happen if DEMOCRATS pass meaningful, significant health care reform? reform that works? reform that lowers costs and increases coverage?

what will happen- THAT is the big secret- and THAT is why THEY are all so scared. it's not a few years of obama, its a few decades without their safe, old school (yes- i mean racist, homophobic, mysoginistic) pals in their usual powerful positions, it's all the supreme court justices in that time, it's all he change that will mean- we will see gay marriage legalized, roe vs. wade protected, affirmative action, global warming, endangered species, workers rights, unionization, bank regulation, you name it (heck, maybe even PEACE!!!)

it's not health care, it's political survival.
that's the gig, that's why they are so emotional, and so SCARED.

hmmmmm...

the nazi name calling didn't start with the tea partiers but with the libs during the bush admin

the tea parties and anti-obamacare from the beginning were loud and sometimes rude but never violent

violence erupted at town hall meetings only after the libs sent in their union thugs

I, too, called the recession -- in 2004, and pegged it to begin around late 2007. That's what got me back into economic forecasting from insolvency law.

I would be wary of using Krugman as an authority on all things economic. His expertise is in the effect of economies of scale on international trade, and also the effects of economies of scale on the location of economic activity (aka the New Economic Geography). For this, and certain works on information economics, he received the Nobel Prize -- not for his anti-market, pro-government-intervention biases. He has no particular expertise in macroeconomics compared with any other economist, and his self-admitted biases prevent him from presenting anything resembling an objective view of the state of macroeconomic theory.

To my knowledge, he has not authored any forecast that has the two key things: dates and numbers. Without those, his macroeconomic theories and expertise remain untested.

"So I see we're about to get another liberal Supreme Court justice. Things continue to swing in the direction of the people, and away from the corporate stooges.

Cool. "

I'm glad we have Obama doing the Court picking and not that angry old white guy from Arizona. If Obama fails at everything else, at least he will have succeeded in keeping the court from becoming completely fascist during his term.
