With rain coming this weekend, McClinski and I have changed our plans, so we plan to be out there this THIS MORNING until about noon. Looks like a nice day...

I think the water level is just below the 118 - maybe around mama's boys.
I hope those horse's in the back can swim.

Oh my god!! Thanks for the visual walk back through time! Stoney-F*#king-Point, where I first put my Kronehoffered feet onto Rock #1's face in 1967. Later came my RR's, then PAs, then RDs, the EBs, etc, etc, but the rocks look the same. I used to boulder there with Bob "Monkey Man" Kamps, and Mouth #1 and Mouth #2 (aka Skinny Paul Cowen and Chubby Greg Bender, who claimed he'd be the first one to third-class the Nose)and I'd watch in awe as Yabo did his thing. What a crazy rag-tag bunch of loons we were. And there was this old-timer (he was maybe late-40s/early-50s then, and I'm 61 now so in retro he seems young) who was of that school of sappy "character building" belief in climbing who would preach to us young climbers about the honor and "the brotherhood of the rope". I'll bet he was a Scoutmaster at one time, he was that corny. Once he was lecturing us out by Rock #1 about how to properly take a dump in the mountains. He actually squatted down to demonstrate the proper pooping posture. We young dudes could just stare at him in tickled disbelief.

Stoney was as much a weekly (daily?) excuse to gather with the outcasts of proper society as it was to hone our rock skills before graduation to the Big Ditch.

Im gonna try and go to Stoney tomorrow night. I know it was kinda foggy and rainy over the weekend, but I was up in the mountains where it was sunny so I don't know how wet it got. So should Stoney be dry and good to go tuesday night?

I was over at the freeway crack for most of the night and when I came back over to Stoney everyone was gone for the night. I found some gear there (really random to have at Stoney) Hit me up if any of you lost something there last night.

I'm going to be out in LA April 17-20 and hoping to do some climbing. If I show up at Stoney point on Sunday will there be people there to climb with? How about if I show up on a Wednesday morning?

Anyone interested in getting out and climbing either Sunday April 17th or Wed April 20th let me know.
