I kinda hope this is just a polite thing to say, one that I appreciate and that no one is still climbing in any of the harnesses I made.
Thinking Ann and I cranked out the last ones probably in the summer of '86 so a good 20 years ago.
Sh*t starts to get brittle after about 10...

uh Ray.. Im still climbing in the swami harness you made me way back when, and in fact loaned it to bvb too. i thought it was stiff because of all the beer ive spilled on it.

The hoedown was too cool. It was great sittin around and trading lies with greg, bvb, brad, jeff, tom and all - just like the old days. I seen some old hodaddys crank some hard sh#t in really good style today. Roy Mc. was unstoppable in his roy rogers hat.
Personally I had a great day. I watched way harder stuff than I had planned on watching and still felt good at the end of the day! Oh yeah.

Attended this function;.....old guys still crank hard, drink beer, do loads, and send;....but "back in the day"....all done without those sissy bouldering pads.......Jeff and his family are awesome to have the "senior citizens" at his house, I'm sure, until the wee hours.....we left early to get back to Josh at 11:45. Tucker drank at least a six pack of beer....(before I picked him up at 6:30 A.M. )...and continued in fine form tippin' them back until the bitter brew end....(I think it's the moist ocean influence;...makes a man thirsty...). Lesson to be learned from all these old guys?........climb, camp, party, travel, and do it up for a few decades and you'll end up all gray, bald, wrinkled, and toasted as these decrepid has-beens.....(And you'll still get your but kicked by someone who looks more like they are ready for shuffleboard and bingo than that V-whatever highball send.). AND...the old dudes still get the chicks!......(Libido Roy's Cowboy hat has been a chick magnet for decades now;.....and Shockley's Hillbilly hat, back in the day, used to bring em' in by the droves......). I missed meeting Tahoe Climber;...I had some Texas jokes for him;......maybe next time. I had a very good day;...how many problems did I send?..........None;.....bouldering is for pussys anyways;...aint' even real climbing;....I just went along for the beer, chicks, and to hang out with Bob Bolton. Joshua Tree was WELL represented with Greg Epperson (He can STILL kick your ass!), Kevin Powell, Tucker Tech, and myself. Everyone climbed, partied, did loads, sent the hard stuff;...ALL with out un-cooked fish, octopus, or squid. I wanted to do Mother Superior, but I had the twins in the stroller, so.....(I didn't want to make Greg Cameron look too bad anyways...)

fortunatley for BeeHay, that truck strap webbing is unlikely to ever give up - I am somewhat surprised by his, uh, "thriftiness" -
I mean that rig is 20 years old you know...BeeHay may be the only person on earth still using one.
So Tucker was there and now I feel even worse I couldn't go - not too surprising about Eppi - he'll outlast and out-crank us all.

Tucker had a great time, and consummed many ...don't get me wrong....(I'm his spokesman...)....BUT he DID say he went there to see two people;... Josylyn Van Belle and Ray Olsen;... both no shows.........MAIN mission for Tucker WAS accomplished;...consune many beers.

Todd I will be in Cali this summer (late June/early July) and spend time in JTree visiting Tucker, Eppi and of course Rick Corbin, etc.
I'm so glad you are all so healthy and happy.

Yowza, this thing was a hoot.
Great turn out with a mob of chatty crawdads stumbling through the brush and sending burly shyte in the heat: ALL DAY LONG.
We started in about 10:30 and walked off the hill at 7:30, with BVB steadily running a bunch of us through quite a tour of the classics; all the while, the mayor of SD climbing, Ron Amick, was in awsome form, heckling, declaring, bullhorning us along the path.
Early on, Mike Ousley (Mike.) presented us with commemorative bandanas, very nice.

Ooohhhh, my head hurts.
Just got up after leaving the party at 2am this morning.
Greg Cameron, and Tom Gibson, and the Adams brothers (Poway Mountaineers, aka PMBs) are most likely climbing Woodson again today. That's how they stay strong all these years, just keep climbing day after day. Gentleman, I'm bowing out today. When my hands can't hold onto suitecase handles at the moment, a day of rest is a good thing. But if anyone wants to meet up with them I'm sure they would appreciate the company.
Had a blast meeting, climbing, and talking with everyone Roy (Tar), bvb, Doug (offWhite), and Rob Muir to name a few. So many great stories, and many hilarious. It is really a small world. Growing up in Poway was really wonderful. Very special to see Rick Piggot again, I'm glad he finally showed -- that was a big surprise!
Lots of stories and pictures to post-up from everyone I'm sure. Jeff (Salad) thanks to you and your family for hosting a really great party, the talks around the campfire with everyone were very memmorable.
The Adams Brothers were thinking this really should be an annual event, I agree (and someone has a house right near Woodson!). Many were missed that didn't make it.
Phantom X and Agent 13, I will find some B&W images of George Tabler climbing at Woodson with me in the '70s and post them up sometime when I can.
Climbing Butt Rock and Poway High School stories with David Rightmer(sp?) Math teacher and McMurray Chem teacher et al., PHS climbing club, a ton of rich Poway Mountaineer's history, just too funny (LOL). These stories must be told. It was really neat to hear about the cross-over between the Poway Mountaineers, Tobin Sorenson, and the StoneMasters. Tom G., has got a bunch of Sorenson stories, someday I would like to hear them. Sounds like Dennis and Bruce were pretty close to Tobin. Very special.
Phantom X and Agent 13, please, please post up that special letter from Dennis when you get a chance. Classic ROTFLMAO funny.
I must drink more water now, and go back to bed.
Further Edit after recovery: History as told by the Poway Mountaineers . . . Found out Tobin was made an honorary member of the Poway Mountaineers (PMBs) as well as a member of the StoneMasters. Tobin had duel membership. Nice bridge between the two groups. The formation of, and the chronological history sequence was really the Poway Mountaineers first (PMBs), then the Santa Monica Boys, then the StoneMasters.
Requirements to be a member of the Poway Mountaineers: attend Poway High School and know how to juggle. Obviously the rules could be bent (lol). Of course leading Valhalla was required for StoneMaster membership, as well as the love of partying;-)) I'm fairly confident the Poway Mountaineers loved to party also and they still do and Scuffy b did indeed represent the Santa Monica Boys in that regard as well

PMBs came out of a climbing, backbacking club started at Poway High School by the teacher of the name ___ (can't remember at this moment need help Greg, Tom, or Kinley) who also knew Royal Robbins. Eventually the club stopped, but the Poway Mountaineers (PMBs) continued on.
Wonderful funny stories, and I'm sure I only heard the bare surface of just a few. There is a treasure trove of many more no doubt . . .

I'm looking forward to seeing climbing pictures from our various factions.
Seems like we spread out in some pretty good size groups; sometimes using cell phones to coordinate meetings at various local up and down the road. "Hey, we're just leaving Test Tube, where are you guys, Jaws? OK..." and out of the bushes and onto the road we'd spill, our groups joining up for stories and beers.

I'd like to do that, but rigor mortis is setting in so I'm struggling over to the jacuzzi, from which I can see Mt Woodson off in the distance...
Greg Cameron et al, who are heading back up today, ya'll are animals. Meanwhile, Lisa & I'll be heading out to the Wild Animal Park, where I understand we'll ride a little train amongst the sequestered beasts.

Cameron is amazing. Not surprised to hear he soloed so much. If I could have had one day of climbing as well as he, my whole career would have been made. Never even thought about 3rd classing Bat Flake.
I'll be honest, I always thought I'd outlast most of my peers in San Diego but, of course, that was just another pipe dream.
So happy this event was a success.

Get out to that Rolfer, then wander in to the gym for some modest, lightweight & consistent werk n'outs, wax up yer track skis, by next spring we'll have ya back in the saddle, crushin' the mighty stones with us.
(but few of us will be soloing Bat Flake...jeez)
