This is why I love bureaucrats:

“Since Feb 1 California has received roughly 18 trillion gallons of water, enough to fill 45% of Lake Tahoe or 27 million Olympic-size swimming pools, the National Weather Service said.

A third of the state (36%) was considered to be in normal conditions and more than half (52%) was considered only abnormally dry as of Thursday.” - LA Times

First, don’t they even look out the window?
Second, why can’t they just say 36% and 52%?
Third, only 45% of Lk Tahoe?

Over two million gallons of water fell on my yard since September. Good thing it didn't all fall at once.

I found parking... had to walk a bit... my plan to get on top of Manure Pile was thwarted by snow and ice on the 3rd class scramble from the gully (went up to the notch and didn't find a passable way).

So I joined the crowds and shot the Fire Fall...

There was a bit of snow in the Valley

In Idaho, the mountain town of Stanley became marooned Wednesday after all three highways leading to the town
were closed because of drifting snow, avalanches and the risk of more slides.

By 11 p.m. Wednesday, the river had surged to 45.38 feet, just shy of its expected crest of 45.4 feet.
Waters have slowly receded overnight, and Thursday morning at 5 a.m. slightly dropped to 44.61 feet.

We were in Stanley one January and it was 28 below... Nice and sunny, though.
