Hey WERNER, I just took a good hard look at my NPS ACCESS PASS Card. Now there's the real terrorist.

EDIT:

But, please, answer my question about Saudi Arabia.

They are indeed the biggest hypocritical pieces of shet in that region. Dealt with them too many times and will never ever come to terms with even thinking about extending my hand out to any one of them.

Hope that answers your question.

The ONLY Arab Nation that I have respect for is, Jordan. The King and his Pop are/were so very cool to us the several times we operated out of Aqaba and Wadi Rum.

The key point is extreme religious fundamentalism has severe unintended consequences

Yes and amen.

I once asked a strongly Christian friend of mine which form of fundamentalism posed a greater threat to Americans' life liberty and pursuit of happiness, Islamic fundamentalism, or Christian fundamentalism.

His answer was smarter than my question. He said: "any kind of fundamentalism."

It does, and I pretty much agree.

I also respect Israel and the Kurds in the area (although obviously neither is arab).

OK, so if the Saudis are part of the problem, and if we can get past the last 35 years of "death to America" type stupidity with Iran (yeah, yeah, big if, I know, but who knows if it could be done), aren't they a more natural ally for us than Saudi? (If we have to have allies there in the first place).

And goddamit again, I almost missed your answer because, again, you edited it in. It's not like we've got a paper shortage here on this site. Start a new post.

147 dead in a school massacre in Kenya by Al Shabbab. Let's see how much
press time that gets.

Religious fundamentalism doesn't feed, water, equip, train, arm, and heal thousands of effective fighters across such a swath of unhospitable terrain.

Command, control, communications, do not spring up overnight from the hot sand out of some "Muslim angst".

As always follow the money and understand who benefits from these horrendous acts? Calling artillery in on yourself, on YouTube nonetheless, from three world superpowers has never been a successful strategy.

There are always fanatics to be harnessed to do your bidding. Crazy muslims, Crazy Christians, disillusioned youth, extreme left or right wing nutcases. The Religious fundamentalism itself doesn't amount to much but is a powerful tool used by those who seek such soldiers.

My Mother's root are in Morocco Reilly.

But I personally prefer the Jordanian Bedu's. Much more embedded in their deep and long traditions of adventure, sharing of goodness to one another and living free in the dirt/sand that in most cases which I have personally encountered, supersedes their Muslim religion.

This is a rather interesting turn of events....

Beg to differ but, it sure does if it is all you know and have been living for well over 1500 years as a culture. Which these Arabs and Taliban have. It is in their blood and, well, DNA.

TE Lawrence learned that very quickly and used it to his advantage to retake Aqaba and eventually beat the Turks.

Read his "Seven Pillars of Wisdom" and learn something about all these Arab doods.

Chief, wanton violence is in ALL our "DNA". Doesn't matter if your black, white, purple, transparent.

Is there a race or religion on this planet that hasn't committed genocide at some point?

My point is we're all capable of it, which is why it's so damn easy to talk angry teenage or 20-something year old males into doing the most horrendous things. For a flag or f*#king book of fairy tales, it doesn't matter....

It just so happens in a largely tribal area with thousand year old blood feuds it's much easier to exploit.

Now, exploited by whom? Hmmmm... It doesn't seem hard to see that for whatever reason the US oligarchs want Assad gone. Israel would be happy with that. So would our "good" head-chopping friends, the House of Saud....

And your point Fear is?

BTW, these folks have lived pretty clean of the vile violent DNA we both speak of..

And there are others cultures out there that have lived pretty much free of this vile shet. Most are in fact of Shaman background.

My point is there's nothing intrinsically different about the DNA of people in the Middle East. The current attempt of the MSM to make everyone fear "Muslims" or "Syrians" is a thinly veiled attempt to divide and distract.

Critical thinking becomes suspended after such horrible events and people react out of this fear rather than the much harder task of understanding who really is behind it. Who paid for it and who benefited from it? It's mich easier to rally behind a flag and say "Let's bomb/kill 'them'" which accomplishes nothing and likely makes the situation worse.

The tough thing to accept is that elements in our own leadership have no qualms about killing civilians on either side and pinning it on that other guy over there to suit their agendas, which runs contrary to anything sane people want.
