Just so much beauty posted here that I am delighted. Magnificent!
Thank you all for the cactus and succulent blooms images. The mountain side images are stunning and bring on the longing to be on the slopes and trails.
Thank you all for sharing all this beauty. And for having an eye to see and photograph it!
:)

Stahl Bro, what you got there is an Ariocarpus fissuatus
probably wild collected, possibly hundreds of years old
Here are a couple of mine from 2010, they are quite a bit bigger now
but don't have any recent photos
This one was wild collected, and is very old
(bought from a vendor)
This one was grown from seed and is about 25 years old
Here are a couple different species of Ariocarpus
Or Flowering Stones, they are rock hard!

Thanks Craig! We have been working on the ID for that one. The specimen you left when you were here is doing quite well ;-)
We thought ariocarpus, and Tucker thought fissuatus.

Tucker is well studied on cactus ID
He has a bunch of my plants that he bought or I gave him
I hope someday he can make it to my nursery and we can nerd out..
I'll supply the beer
for some reason I can't upload photos
will try back later
