and funny how his heros in congress,
when confronted with a bill last week promoting states rights in the demand that oil extractions must pass a vote at that level,

all voted against it!

Are you in favor of all those who voted to support Iraq War? Obama care votes?

In favor?

Where did ole' blueblocr go anyway?? You'd think he would also show up to deny the allegations posted here? Especially considering he was all over this retarded thread a few pages back. Since he left everyone has been just ganging up on bluering which is too bad because it seemed like they had really similar views on the topic. I'm sure bluering could use the support about now.

The Pope has stated that gays should not be marginalized or discriminated upon.

This is good news.

Maybe they will allow gays and women into priesthood someday. It's pretty dumb that they don't already.

Sorry to dredge up an old OT thread, but this is remarkable.

I'm not religious, but I'm stoked to hear this news.

Sully, I didn't know that.

Your TR was great! You seem like a very kind, compassionate, and understanding person.

Thanks for being you!

I'm related to and friends with a number of gay people. It is no different to me than a traditional heterosexual relationship. They love each other, and that's what is important.

Maybe someday I'll find love as well. I personally am attracted to women, but I respect love in all of its manifestations.

Long live love! It's a beautiful thing!

Sullly, that may not have been a Cmac action...

I've noticed some TR's go into the Trip Reports Only room and disappear from the general thread flow at some point. Whether it's an automatic programming or an arbitrary thing I don't know.

What planet are you on? Give me half-ropes and pitons any day.

I'm on planet earth dude. I respect all people. Shouldn't you do the same?

Respect is the basis of a good, honest life.

the trip reports universally share a short life
upon the front page. the get the spotlight
for a few days then disappear until someone
remarks on them.

im sure this wasn't specific to your nice trip report, sully.

Burchey,

I know a great number of people who feel romantic love for people of the same sex. It makes me smile to see them gazing lovingly at each other.

Love is love, it transcends gender.

Love only means procreation if you're religious. If you're a kind human who respects people, love can be between a man and a man or a woman and a woman.

As I've said before, I am attracted to women, but I acknowledge and respect the love that same sex couples share. It's natural for people to find love with others of the same sex. It has been happening for millennia, marginalizing or criminalizing it is wrong. Period.

My lady and I have an open relationship. She's 100% lesbo. And a gold star. We love each other.

Ok Burchey, I think I get your point, but discounting romance is super cynical.

Haven't you ever fallen in love with someone?

Brandon-, wonder why Cmac keeps closeting my gay wedding TR to the trip report section only, erasing it from the forum twice. Another poster (friend) alerted me to this.

Jim,
I just heard about that yesterday from a friend who is a bartender in Brooklyn.

She told me that over 200 NYC bars are boycotting Russian vodka.

I know, 200 bars in NYC isn't many, but maybe it will send a message.

Meanwhile, in Uganda...

“Foes of allowing same-sex marriage might note that there’s been no noticeable breakdown in the fabric of society that can be attributed to extending the right to marry to people who share the same gender.”

thats sort of like the pot smoking study that came out in the 70s. No noticeable difference in someone who smokes pot for 10, 20,30 years. whatever the number was. The problem was their test subjects had been smoking pot for their entire lives and pot had been smoked copiously on that island for generations. So whatever difference might have been noticed had already occurred. If I am 40 years old and have been smoking pot since before I was born, and you test me for 10 years, you likely won't see much of a difference.

Somewhat similar situation here. These people have been living together and having sex and doing all the relationship intimacies, so the piece of paper isn't all that big of a difference if you are trying to understand the effect. The effect is a cumulative thing and has to be studied over large numbers of generations to be understood.

The similarity in climbing are the small mistakes that singly don't lead to catastrophe, but together can.

And Please, you don't need to flame me. I'm just explaining a viewpoint. It doesn't mean that I agree with it. If you want to change something, you generally need to understand it.

The viewpoint of some spiritualist would be over millions of years. 10 years would be next to nothing in that time frame.

I fully understand that Timid, and I agree. I was speaking in very long term social impacts. I'm sorry if I did not convey that.
