Here's to a speedy and full recovery. I went through c-diff hell last year as a bonus to diverticulitis. Not fun.

Locker-

I took off a few days without a computer to come back and hear all this terrible schitt about da BL00t. Billy is rich in friends.

Blitzo is still battling the infection within and not feeling too good. His chemistry is way off to say the least which makes him a little wonky to deal with.

We're happy he's getting fluids, antibiotics and care, something we couldn't handle at home at this stage and with the infection. Total bummer of the highest order to listen to a friend be agitated, frustrated and a bit delusional too. Poor guy, I was telling Russ and the nurse last night how mortified he'll be when he snaps out of it and realizes he's the crazy guy down the hall. In all his other visits to the hospital he's talked about the nutty people keeping him up at night. But I fear.... he's that dude now.

Anywhoo, please keep sending good vibes his way. He's safe at the moment but not thrilled this infection is still not under control. Chemotherapy has been placed on hold until he's stabilized.

Hang in there Bloot, we love you!

Donation info:

To send a card, check, or something else:

Blitzo
c/o Russ Walling
HC1 Box 696
Joshua Tree, Ca. 92252

To send a check, make it out to Russ Walling as his bank account is still not quite set up, send it to the address above, and I'll cash it and hand him the money since he lives here at our house.

PayPal is still probably best:
RevBlitzo@hotmail.com is his personal address to send it to. Or, if that one makes you nervous, you can send it to me at "paypal@FishProducts.com" and I'll transfer it to Blitzo.

Thanks!

locker - I may be giving you the side-eye while taking the photo you posted but I can't thank you enough for all you've done for Billy. All that time at the hospital. Literally being there for him when he's been at his worst so far. You are a treasure. I'm so glad you had his back throughout this latest setback.

Russ & Sooze - great seeing you this weekend and great being at the crag with Sooze Saturday afternoon. A day out on the rock helped I hope. You guys are truly top notch and Billy is so fortunate to have you. Caregivers of the highest order, totally selfless in the things you've done for the Bloot. Words can't express how awesome and selfless you guys are with the Bloot. Anyone would be lucky to have you as family. Fortunately for Billy - he is.

Since he was diagnosed, all of you have proven what true friendship really is. Steve and I only get to visit Billy once a week and wish we could do more but you guys are there for him, all the time and all of us here are grateful for it.

Hoping for the best for Billy this week. Thanks for your updates here.

It's been a rough few days for our friend. He's scared, angry and well.......sick. Will is going to check on him tonight and hopefully speak with the doctors as to how he's progressing. It's no fun to be stuck in a hospital fearing the worst and feeling so crummy.

Locker, I'll send you an email but please call me.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but isn't it the Nurses JOB to give Blitzo his medications???...

Your 're right, and it's more than simply being an issue of the RN's job.
I'm an RN. Giving friends/family members medications for them to administer is a very serious mistake.

No, I had to stop one nurse ready to give my pops some pills that would have stopped his heart. They are very busy people and make mistakes like all of us. There needs to be someone always overseeing what's going in the patient to double check hospital mistakes.

You would think watching the tv shows, hospitals and doctors have their chit together but the insurance numbers show they screw up more than they like to admit.

they usually have a 'med nurse' who dispenses meds. that's about all they do on their shift, along with charting on each patient they visit. kind of unusual, imo, that one would give someone else the meds and not actually personally witness the patient ingest them/it themselves. since they would never say otherwise in their charting. but, like they say, sh#t happens.

edit: it's called "documentation"!
