Just started bike commuting a few weeks ago, and am really digging it. Up until last month, I hadn't ridden a bicycle in over 20 years. The commute is about 12 miles round trip, or 10 miles if it’s not a gym day. Been doing it twice a week, and plan on getting it to three days. I start work at 5:30am, so riding down the big open empty LA avenues in the morning is a blast. The after work ride is more heads up with all the knuckleheads driving and texting at the same time, but no issues yet. The typical week looks like this now, with the bike added in on whatever days I'm organized enough to get all my sh#t together the night before:
Monday: Crossfit
Tuesday: Climbing Gym
Wednesday: Crossfit
Thurs/Fri: Rest (sort of, still work)
Sat/Sun: Climbing

My wife and I joined a local TRX class a couple weeks ago. Thinking about it stirs the unease of a bad peyote trip. My wife ran 500 plus miles last year, and with the exception of a few liberal vices, I'm considerably fit. Nevertheless, each session leaves us in a state of battered humility and internal question of well-being. As usual with class fitness, intensity varies per teacher/student, but if you love pain, go check it out.

goatboy, beautiful shots.
Finally got out on the mt. bike during lunch after probably a good six weeks off the bike. Temps were perfect and dust was nil thanks to the rain a couple of days ago. The uphills felt a little grim, but sweet to get out. A gorgeous day.

It is fabulous running weather here still - 45F and dry in the morning. Thanks to the end of DST it is also bright at 0600 but that will not last much longer.
Did some 800M sprints and squat cleans today so hamstrings are toast.
Going climbing tomorrow - outside of course :)

The local 5 miles trail run was completed between storms. Signed up for a few more races this year to keep the momentum going. The dreary days definitely drain my solar powered batteries. Need to drive a long way to hike since it is hunting season, and the locals take that very seriously.
Will be running on Turkey Day. Very traditional. Expect to see some posts from others on Turkey Day.

Yesterday, hidden valley trail Moab 6 miles
Today, well yesterday now, the pipedream trail loop 8 miles.
Both on 5fingers.
And,
I plotted out my own, do it yourself half marathon, from my door roundtrip with only maybe a mile worth of pavement. The rest on good trails!
Climbing tomorrow/today, though!

ummm...sounds very ape-like.
I saw earlier you did the Negro Bill Canyon...one of my favorites in Moab...all the way back to Morning Glory Arch. Ferret and I did a simul rappell off of it a couple years ago. Hiked down from up by SlickRock trail to the top of the arch, then down and out.
Been trail running at Nisene Marks, Wilder Ranch and Waddell. Old school. On 10 toes (actually got a new pair of trail running shoes after almost sliding down into Aptos Creek last week). This afternoon will hit the trail at lower DeLaVeaga Park ... all here in Santa Cruz.
