http://news.yahoo.com/world-getting-warmer-faster-expected-132734289.html

The world is getting warmer faster than anticipated. A new report from the International Energy Agency says global temperatures will rise twice as fast as projected if countries don't act to slash their admissions soon. Released this morning, the IEA report shows carbon diaoxide from energy emissions rose 1.4 percent globally last year, a new record, and puts the world on pace for a 5.3 degree Celsius (9 degrees Fahrenheit) rise in global temperatures by 2020. In 2010, a UN summit agreed the goal would be to limit the rise in global temperatures to 2 degrees by 2020.

"This puts us on a difficult and dangerous trajectory," IEA chief economist Fatih Birol said in her statement. "If we don’t do anything between now and 2020, it will be very difficult because there will be a lot of carbon already in the atmosphere and the energy infrastructure will be locked in."

So, who are the culprits most responsible for the world's bad record so far? China and Japan are two big culprits. They saw 3.8 and 5.8 percent rises in emissions, respectively. Countries in the Middle East were also singled out. Amazingly, the U.S. earned a gold star for their work, per The Washington Post:

Knotts, I claim it's a low snow/water content season in the Sierras.

You're the one claiming the data is not out there. Dude, it's June, the data for the just ended wet season is out there.

Now prove me wrong. Your maps are hilarious.

Hey, Chief, I saw the sun rise in the east this morning.

The sun always rises in the east.

It's the Absolute Truth.

The lab coats say there's no absolute truth.

But every day it rises.

The lab coats will then try tricks and say it rises a few minutes earlier or later or degrees left or right.

This how the lab coats tax their brains until they explode ......

I never said the lab coats are trying to fool anyone.

YOU DID.

YOU have just been caught in your usual stupid projection that you do every time here.

The "tricks" are what they use to deny the existence of the absolute truth.

Your brain is stupid ......

Good find Ed ,and soon to be hot off the press.Just glanced through it, but it appears to be science as it should be-just the facts according to their sampling and handling of the data. Will print the whole thing off and read it on my long flight tomorrow. At minimum a good regional reconstruction off solid proxy data that everyone here should read.

The climate isn't warming... even if it is warming it isn't do to humans... according to the best science, the climate has changed before... scientists worship [something] so they can't be trusted, unless of course I agree with them... the models can't predict the future... and finally, it doesn't matter because the universe is so big.

Surely this process has been studied by psychologists.

Hard to figure out exactly what's going on with the polar bears, but Ron seems to have the right idea.
There was a good article in last week's Economist explaining why bears seem to be thriving even though melting sea ice would seem to cause problems.

http://www.economist.com/news/science-and-technology/21578638-diet-goose-flesh-may-help-polar-bears-survive-global-warming-sacred-geese

Look like they're just eating more geese now to make up for harder-to-get seals. Some eggheads had "proved" that geese weren't a good substitute with some modeling, but the eggheads forgot to take something into account (cooling effect of water), so their calculations were basically useless. Hmmm, I was wonder if there are any lessons here that may apply more generally . . .

Wasn't talking about the second paper Bruce. I had been reading then posted after only seeing the first. That is the way of Ed, throw out one relatively neutral followed by, well the high preist himself.

My thoughts exactly Chief. We will never know anywhere near all. It is like an infinite layer of shells, you just figure out how to hatch out of the first and then you are gone long before you could even consider pecking through the next of the infinite.

Yeah you"re on to something Blah Blah, to bad the experts can't see it too.

How was LPP Gary. I notice you took the descent choss pile gully as you ascent route. Why not the NR? Did you notice the CA Precip % I posted Gary. 20-40" annually for the SO SIERRA.

It was hot. And dry. And it is a choss gully! We had a nice time, though, beautiful area, great views from the top. Busy on the summit, got buzzed by a sail plane. Two German fellows popped up while we were there from the north ridge route. They did car to car in 16 hours.

Not much snow though, and it's still spring, Chief. And yes, thanks for posting the charts that supported my claim of a dry year.

You remind me of this thru-hiker we saw on the PCT a few weeks ago down in Rockhouse Basin. He said it wasn't a dry year, too. Hey, he was from Wisconsin and had hiked the JMT once, so he was an expert on the Sierra, right?

Have you taken a good look at the Great Western Divide?

Chief, the claim from myself was this snow season was low. Try to focus.

You keep showing pics of this year like you are trying to prove something.

Your last chart does not show the latest winter season or the previous. Hard to believe you are so dumb.

That was the first part of the season, Chief. We had a good start. My chart shows that as well.

If you can't handle the simple stuff, how do you expect to deal with much more complicated science?

Chief are you really this dum? Exhibit 1 only goes thru feb. The rest of the winter and spring were very dry. Ex. 2 ends at 2009.

Typical chief running mouth. Doesn't let facts get in the way of his firmly held beliefs, lol.
