Hi Everyone,

I don't know if anyone else has done this, but a couple of nights ago, I meditated on Bobby and his recovery, and I found it really empowering. With each inhale, I visualized that I was sucking away any negative thoughts, feelings, and energy around and in Bobby, and then with each exhale, I visualized that I was breathing nutritious and invigorating energy into him and Faith. It felt so effortless in doing this, and I recommend that others do it too.

If only our church congregations did this during the prayers for the people. - Mills

Hey Bob-Meister,

Short update a propos of nothing: your photo of wall climbing in Cody is now in the window of the Patagucci store in Georgetown. It totally made my day to see it, Bud, as I know people will be touched by it (no way they can miss it now ...) even if most don't know what you're going through. You know what it is? it's you, from your bed in your little room overlooking Central Park, yelling out at everyone: "I'm here, don't forget about me!!!" And it's working, Bud, because even the ones who don't know you just stop, check out the pic, and think of you. Just like that. I just think it rocks all around.

Will be sending some special thoughts your way on Friday - I just love it that Molly has organized this new edition of "let's give Bob-Meister a thought-a-thon."I will email Jules and Eduardo so that our Kenyan friends get in on the action, even if they need to wake up in the middle of the night to be with us.

OK, that's it for now, Bud, I can never tell you too much how much I'm thinking of you, pulling for you and sending you lots of love, hope and faith.

And, as always,Bud, I hold you close in the back of my mind,

Charlotte

Hi Bobby,
Well, it has been quite a while since I have checked in here to see what is happening with you. I saw your mom today. I also saw Laura Bell. Of course, we talked of you a little bit. Your mom looks great! She is in good spirits and is very excited of the progress that you have shown lately. She loves that you are tracking with your eyes. You just keep giving her those little bits of inspiration and I am sure she is going to pop through the doors one of these days and tell me that you are fully awake and ready for the next step to coming back here and being the you that we all know so well.
I also talked to Jim today. He said that your mom is on her way back to be by your side again. You are truly blessed to have such a wonderful, loving family. I can't wait for the opportunity to meet Faith. It seems she is a well kept secret that you have kept to yourself. I don't know if she has left your side at all during all of this. How fortunate are you?
I don't think I have hugged anybody as hard as I hugged your mom today. I hugged her extra because I knew that she was going back today and I know that she will share that hug with you. I also would like her to share that hug with Faith. I have never met Faith, but I know that I would instinctively hug her if I ever get a chance.
I am so glad to hear the good news of your surgery. We all know how tough you are and you're not about to stop now. You just keep being strong and recover so that we can all talk to you in person again.
This forum has been wonderful! It is nice to be able to talk to you even though we aren't close, geographically speaking. It has to be cool to hear all of these stories from friends far and wide, some I am sure you haven't heard from in a while. I guess this is one way to get your friends together, but I am sure they would have accomodated you if you just would have asked.
The landscaping is almost done in the old Cody Feed lot. It looks so nice. Barron was showing your mom and Laura what the front of the building will look like once the renovation is done. We are all so excited. New office space and a face lift to the building will sure put a new spin on the block. It is very cool. Barron is so generous and I never take that for granted. I am very thankful for the job I have and the family that I work for. They are wonderful people.
Mr. and Mrs. Read have arrived back in Wyoming. They are in good spirits and glad to be back. There is just something about this wild country that we call home.
Well, I think that this is all I have for now. Just because I haven't written doesn't mean that I haven't been thinking about you. I think of you at least once every day. Seeing your mom just makes my heart full. Stay strong and keep fighting. I want to see that great smile that only you have. I pray for you each and every day.
Sincerely,
Janet

Hi Bobby,
I wanted you to know that we have Dan's poster of YOU hanging on the wall in our dining room. Little Curtis's high chair sits right in front of it. Every day when I take him out of his chair after he eats he points at all the pictures of you and I remind him, "that's Uncle Bobby, remember how funny he is. He's working hard right now to get well so we need to send good thoughts his way." And then Curtis looks at me as if to say, "ok." Today when he finished breakfast he looked at you and, without a prompt from me, he said, "Baba." So now you've made it into the big three, Mama, Dada, and Baba!! He's a lucky boy to have his Baba.

We're lucky to have you in our lives too. I'm so glad to have had the chance to see you last week in New York and I can't wait for you to be back in Cody. In the mean time Jeanette and I will hold down the office and when Chives gets back he'll put the finishing touches on your building, which by the way looks amazing. In other words, all is well here and everything is ready for you!

love
Sharon, (Dan and little Curtis)

Hi Bobby,
I thought it to be coincidental that here I am in San Francisco and the new mojo is to nominate you for the Rowell Award to be presented here in 08. You deserve sooooo much. I still think about you all the time. I am hoping that when your devoted Sister Faith reads our notes that you remember all the previous great times. I want to literally say hang in there Bobby, because that is one of my most vivid memories of you. Hanging from my front porch awning on 1210 Grand in Laramie, Hanging from the Norwegain Olympics rope in the Snowy Range, and Hanging from various amazing places that we all only see in pictures from NG.

Got this from Faith today

Dear All,

I am soo happy to report that last night Bobby moved from the Neuro ICU to a private room in a ward!! It all came about rather quickly, but the process was smooth and the room is the Ritz: overlooks lush Central Park, Feng Shui'd (sp?), private bathroom and most importantly, it's peaceful and quiet. We were all beginning to show signs of "ICU psychosis" from all the
incredible bustle, activity, beeps, alarms, voices, etc. that were unrelenting. Bobby's doctors felt he was definitely ready and we're all much happier in this new very open space with much natural light and good energy.

I'll send a more detailed update within the next day, but just wanted to make sure that you all knew this exciting news and that your powerful thoughts, vibes, prayers and all the other good stuff make a difference and ease our days! That's the truth.

With love and thanks always from all of us here (and we have a great crew),

What a fantastic idea, Gradyphoto! I reviewed the nomination form, and from what I've read on this thread, Bobby is exactly the type of person this award was made for. He certainly reminds me of a younger version of Galen.

Hey Bob-Meister,

Man, is the news about you good or what... It's just awesome to know that you are putting up such a fight and doing so well. We never expected any less from you, but it's just nice to be finally getting some good news.

Following Mollie's suggestion, I put everything on hold last night so that I could give you my full attention at the same time as a whole lot of other people. This time I wanted to do something special, so I took a night run through the streets of DC, leading me to the Khalil Gibran memorial on Massachusetts Avenue. Now, this memorial is one of the coolest places in DC, and a spot that Jessica had visited and really liked. It's basically a fountain with a few sculptures and quotes by the great poet. It's surrounded by trees and thus quite shady, though that was completely irrelevant last night at 10.00pm ... What I found particularly relevant, however, was one of his quotes, which is also one of my favorites: "We live only to discover beauty, all else is a form of waiting." Now, I don't know about you, Bud, but who, better than you, lives to discover beauty? And you know that we are now all pros at waiting, waiting for you to be well again, to come back to us, waiting to hear your voice, and, most of all, waiting to hear that wicked laugh of yours ... I'd taken my iPod along and played a few good tunes in your honour, including some really cool U2, and, of course, the song about holding you close in the back of my mind. Overall, it was one of the best night runs I ever had, and it made me feel really close to you, so I hope you felt it.

All right, Bud, that's it for now, just keep up the good work and we'll keep waiting for the awesome updates from your little sister, and we'll keep pulling for you, sending lots of thoughts, strength and hope your way.

As always, Bud, I hold you close in the back of my mind,

Charlotte

another update from Faith sent out yesterday Aug 11

Dear All,

I'm writing as the bearer of good news! For the past day and a half Bobby has begun to show some real signs of alertness: tracking voices with his eyes, flexing and moving his right arm and fingers and at times following simple commands. The various doctors and specialists who saw Bobby yesterday were all very encouraged. I think the move to the private room with a view
makes a significant difference in Bobby's ability to heal--even if it's just in terms of getting more peace and some space. At any rate, we are all in really high spirits and am so happy to pass this wonderful news on to you all--the most extraordinary support network imaginable.

I will keep you posted as things progress. I believe tonight's 8pm Mountain Time prayer is timed perfectly. Bobby's gonna feel and heal with the vibes
:-)

With love and thanks always and to everyone,

Faith

This really sounds like one of the best updates yet! Great things are happening in NYC, pretty soon someone is going to have to answer that question---- "where the hell am I" but maybe first it will be "where's my camera" haha

Wonderful! It is nice to hear that he is doing better. Please note that I had a friend take three years to heal from a head injury. (Motorcycle accident.) Yet... He did "fully recover" and his recovery started with very similar small steps.

Hi Faith and Family

I have been following Bobby's recovery and so so glad to hear of the improvements. Sending strength and love from South Africa. I have vivid memories of Mt Kenya - topping out on Nelion at sunset and looking across to Bation and seeing Bobby and his team celebrating on that summit! It took them another few hours of climbing in the dark to make it across to the little hut on Nelion and of course there was no space, so they opted to bivi outside. We all sat the next morning wrapped up in our sleeping bags, drinking tea, watching the sun rise over Kilimanjaro. Magical! Ciao Tanya
