So just to be sure: the Gordon Family Home still needs a new roof?

If the roof is still needed I'll be making my final plans to be there with my tool belt ready to anything to help the group achieve the goal.

I understand there could be too many volunteers for the house to support.

Too many hands is always a welcome complication for a roofing party. However, too much pride in work assignments or expectations can cause conflict.

In the interest of promoting a positive vibe I promise to joyously follow or lead any task from tear-off, and clean-up to installing shingles and flashing.

So, if the roof party is on I'll be checking with my boss to see if I can get some time off to join the fun.

Thanks,
Bill

Hey Bill, thanks for the offer. The roof has already been taken care of. Currently the last 2 major issues are the electrical (which I'm handling) and the plumbing (nobody is handling).

Thanks again.

Thanks RLF,

I'd been following the thread not so closely and got mixed messages.

Glad the Gordon's have a sound roof plus many other important upgrades. I'm sad that I could not be there to help with the roof, but glad it is taken care of and will be sending a modest donation to help defray some of the costs.

--edit-- Wish I could do the plumbing, but in that area I'm a total n00b.

Robert, got the one toilet fixed and the other replaced.

The new one still needs grout and a new connecting hose.

Great picture of Mona, the VW (and you in back?), the 1970 guide, and some guy holding it. ;)

Cool deal Wendell, looks like we're getting somewhere!

I would like to clear up some possible confusion with this fundraiser.

This is not just about a roof or some electrical. This is about raising some money for somebody who gave to the climbing community by allowing his home to be overrun by pretty much any random "climber" who happened through the door.

Over the years, Todd shelled out a lot of money from his own pocket to pay for utilities and god knows what else.

It's time to give back! It makes no difference what he ultimately does with the funds. This is a THANK YOU TODD party/fundraiser.

Hats off to you Todd, you're a great friend!!

What rlf said.

Johntp- Not sure about the latest.

Rob, love the photo. Your mom looks great. Marge said "she does not look like an outdoor woman!"

Thanks Crusher, love the book. I read it already.
"Nice party hat Crusher." Remember that??? (circa 1979?)

Cool guide guide, Randy!

Fattrad, is it really you?

"Fattrad, is it really you?"

Not the real thing, but an incredible simulation...

Fatty is fine in my book. He sent me a pack for a guide who had his gear ripped off, and when it wasn't needed, asked me to give it to someone who was in need.

It went to a 15 year old daughter of a friend of mine who needed a pack for school outdoor trips. It may have been just an old pack to him, but to her it was the world.

Aces in my book regardless of what he may post!
