I just love the way Mouse can mince words. Also, chop, blend, puree, etc. Like a master bartender blending concoctions.
Mouse, there will always be a rock route for you, it's not about numbers. It's about the beauty of the naked stone, the hard part of the universe.
Salute!

All in good time. Don't rush the chef. Have some more beer and wine and snacks. And that was the second day.

Mouse! Thank you so much for your company, and great conversation. You downplay your climbing ability as I thought your technique was sound, and your belay top notch!
Stay well my friend!

Yada yada yada. Got it. And who struck you with a piton hammer? Yammer yammer yammer.
Tuesday a.m.
By about nine-ish everyone had left to climb. Moosedrool and I elected to come with Jim and Angela. Grippa and a partner (whose name has escaped me--sorry) came to the same spot, the very garden-like end of Decadent Wall, I guess it's the west end?
Anyway, we all got on Private Idaho and the climb next left. Jim led that one, and then Moosedrool followed.
Every leader begins by cleaning and every legend begins somewhere.
This is where I flamed out the first time, too.
These are mainly just the climbing shots I took. It's a truly wonderful little garden as you can tell. Wood roses abound.
The weather threat evaporated when we quit this spot to join the main gang down in the sunny vale of the Decadent Wall.
Sdit:
Fritz sends me his love and corrections. Thanks, I get lost in new spots with no map in my head but stange lines and weird dots instead.
He sez: Brian: Your last batch of photos and prose posted on the COR thread are at west side of Bath Rock. Decadent Wall is up at the Breadloaves and was where you folks went next.

Good Mormon, Wayno! This isn't the most flattering photo, but it probably looks like you do of a typical morning.
I hope your feet are improved, your truck gets better, and that you get to climb at COR next year.
Your "performance" of your self-appointed job and your volunteerism are a model for all members of the Taco community.
Like I said, way upthread, Community Of Rocks.
Having had time to mull over events, I've decided that the most moving and fascinating moments for me were those which I shared alone with Rodger, our Brokedownclimber.
The man is such a treat to talk with and he has stories of my heroes like Kor, stories of a beautiful wee pixie of a climber he loves, stories of working in his profession of chemistry, and of the Dolomites, especially.
Rodger, here's to you and your "continuity factor" in this community is at an all-time high, my man. Thanks for the beta on the past. See ya at Facelift.
Good Mormon, Rodger!

Boris the dog would like to thank all of his human friends for letting him be a dog and do what dogs do: guard the food supply.
If Fritz didn't bend his rule a bit, then Masha would not have attended and my support team would have been a crap shoot. I'm sure people would have stepped up to the plate but Masha and I have been doing this together many years and it would not have been the same.
The long drive was tough on Boris and we weren't sure if he still had it in him. He was stoic and made the trip just fine. By the second day he seemed to have more energy and lifting him into the truck was not as hard as it was. He would actually try to jump in by himself. Good for him, but his unexpected exuberance caused bodily harm. First, he smashed my nose, then, he gave Masha a black eye. I wonder if any didn't believe us and actually thought I "lumped her up". Too funny.
Since we got home, Boris has been more energetic than he has been of late and we are sure that the COR trip and his new friends really made a difference. If you remember the thread about how sick Boris was , you can appreciate my feelings about this dog and this wonderful community of people we have here. The Supertopo Forum community is quite special in my experience.

Oh, and by the way, it was mentioned up-thread about the ages of some of the attendees. Boris has you all beat. He is over-90 in dog years.

Fritz- I think i get this geriatric math you speak of. You simply subtract ten years from your actual age?? ;)
Wayno!-I'm so glad Bob is feeling better! It was great to get to bond with him. Give him a belly rub for me.
Bob was such a nuisance at dinner.. Lol
Mouse!- glad your enjoying my stuff bro ;) i have been quite enjoying your photos! It's always nice to see yourself from a different perspective.
Kevin and I were at the aforementioned Breadloaves too that day. Just on the sunny side. After a couple climbs with the boys I begged for some shade and we adjourned to the shady side in the trees.
Jim dealing with a stuck rope while Moose belays.
It was after that we went to Parking Lot Rock and Greg hit up Thin Slice.
Greg on Thin Slice 10a
I went for a walk.
After i one hanged the climb and fought to get Gregs two stuck cams out, Kev styled it and we decided to head back to camp.
Donini mid tale entertaining the troops.
Group camp. Mouse totally ganked this angle from me. :)
Saugy and Mari soaking up the beta from Donini. Mark, Fritz, Roger, Mouse and Wayno are behind.
Moose enjoying another tale a la Donini, while Angela and Phyl chat in the background. Fritz and Mark are manning the grill.
Wayno cooking up a mean pasta. Moose appreciating the skills, Masha facilitator extraordinaire, Greg checking out the appies.
Mice like cheese last i heard... Mark and Greg are hiding in the smoke.
The sausages were divine with the pasta and meatballs.
Mark, chef's assistant extraordinaire.
Glad u guys are enjoying these pics! Mouse and i seem to be in stereo at the moment which is nice. I got more! Coming up soon!

Great photos all.
Big Mike! I will copy and forward your complements to Mark.
He is still (somehow) avoiding the allure of reading and posting on ST.

Brokedownclimber dispenses some wisdom.neebee's post reminded me that I'm working on a theory that meat bees get so mean because they have to deal with these thorny, pulpy objects during this season, and they feel all bitchy and take it out on campers.
Meanwhile, Mark is at Practice Rock on "Flirts Lead." Oh, you kids!"OKAY, LOWER ME, PLEASE!"

Good photo coverage and commentary Mouse.
Big Mike don't you have some pics taken from this climb?
Also, great shot of Grippa on thin slice where you went for walk.
What about his fine lead of eagle crack, I know you be holding back some footage of that.

Why thank you sir! Perhaps the allure of pictures will entice him to check it out.
Kev, i most certainly do! You are getting a little ahead of me though, i will be there shortly... I also have lots of other climbing shots, i am only using a sampling of them here, heavy on the group shots.
Gotta save something for the tr! Lol

I don't know about you all, but I'm sill kinda buzzed from the Cor trip. It wasn't all fun, there was some work involved, but the general tone was peaceful and productive to the point that those two concepts can compliment one another. I had the sublime feeling that the sky was smiling at us. Except of course, Thursday afternoon, where the sky could only in the briefest of moments, be considered as happy. Let's do it again, next time.
I learned a few things, and that isn't always easy to say sometimes. Especially when you think you have something figured out. I'm learning to cherish these moments, no matter how seemingly difficult. Now let's all tip one, and, Ching-ching.

Hi folks.
It was a great pleasure to have met you all at City of Rocks. Mary and I felt honored to be able to join in on Tuesday's dinner and the accompanying campfire tales.
Wayno was an awesome chef (the photos are proof, I think), Fritz and Heidi were great hosts.. thanks, you two, for putting this together. Great conversations, and a a lot of laughs were had.. we hope to meet all of you again.
It turned out to be a bad decision to leave early because we ended up getting rained out in the Tetons (sorry to hear about your brief storm there, ours lasted three days!). With the beta we received from Donini and Jack T. we felt we were dialed in for success on the Grand! Of course, Mother Nature always ends up having the last say..
We did get to climb in Montana at Gallatin Canyon, and up in Canmore before I drove the last of our 4500km (!) loop to get home and back to work (Mary stayed in the Rockies to do a weekend yoga retreat, lucky girl).
And now I've been able to view the stories and photos that you guys have posted up.. awesomely entertaining.. Mouse, you're a true artist! Moose Drool, Big Mike, HV, Fritz, Spider, Em Knott, BDC, Phyl.. and the rest of ya, cheers!
Hey Roger. Your photo captured us on our last climb in the City.. can I have a copy of this for my collection?

Hey there Saugy, nice shots!
You and Mary were very productive at COR sending many classics while us older folks putzed about.
Brother Dave & I are serious about catching up with you folks in BC in snowy months.
Noticed this photo on the Almo, Idaho city web site.
