The thing is I've got a old old relic of a burial plot close by,
headstones n' such.
I'm not happy posting that gloomy junk,
to cloudy all day,
Dark clouds over white caps, black Steson hat,
HH Lightcap. (Been along time )

Oh if only the truth of the vagabond were as romantic as the truth of the have nots.

The blush wears off, unless it is wax, then it can't stay near the flames, or travel
Dust ruins all its got - it's shine.

True mortality swooshes in the bowl,
but dwelling on it
now
is to grey a color, moribund

I prefer yellow, green (& by way of a slap in the morbid face SNAP outa it! Pappy)
Nice Orange you got, out of Sam's Point Flames

The best way to get a feel for the locations of the fishing holes,
as a point of reference, find Weir Farm National Park, then look at the
( Route7 )corridor in Georgetown there are 1940 fishing camp relics

your comments kicked off a scary free association thought

Train or trane?
Train oh yeah ! :
The Susquehanna viaduct?
Did you see the videos?

Beaver Kill?

The Rooney Fest! I put up videos of that too!
I used to go As a guest , Pyrotechnics or musician's crew,
not so much, paying crowd,
If you don't know, it was a smokin' hot blue grass venue 10 yrs in a row.
& it is best to go & be part of a larger gang

I have to go else where but in past, Springs
I've cast a few, while looking for mythic rock from my lost youth.
Honesdale ? Clark Summit ? Hawley?
Of course Deposite. . .?
Shoot I'm drawing a blank, 40 years ago
I was seeking cars out, to drive to. . .?
Man, it is on the tip of my tounge!
We would go to a friend's dead grandparents house .
(In. . ??) it was right on (or?a main branch of ?)
to play, party & fish, & hang out.

lots of clear evidence of before &
After acid rain. In the fish relics and what very sad catches we made as younge men.
Compared to the pictures of us as tots, the dead grandparents in the same fishing spots with creels overflowing.

WelL, as long as we're on the topic of good health, I'm coming up on the 62nd anniversary of my first "holy" communion. Don't ask when the last was.

I don't know if it'll work, but I'm trying to get Father Serra to show.

I just don't know what to serve.

All suggestions will be considered and maybe appreciated. These have previously been sent in.

"serve somebody, you gotta"
"go f urself"

Thought I'd share HiHood's take on the invasion of California. The power of the mind_warp is indeed mightier than the sword, eh?

Cabby, great blog. I'd like to emphasize that the all too frequent notion that the "Spanish" came to what is today California and "enslaved" the native Americans is not supported by the numbers of soldados de cuera nor general settlers (pobladores). As the pointed out 1790 CA census reflects, numbers of actual soldiers were few. I believe 30 some at presidio Santa Barbara, 88, (as your blog points out) in San Diego and simular numbers in Monterey and San Francisco. They had soldados at each mission from these numbers. If my memory doesn't fail me, the most would have been at San Luis Rey in O'side. So, with four presidios total in Alta Ca, maximum soldados would be no more than 400 at any given time to enslave some 300K+ natives. There were many cases of mistreatment, yes, I am sure, but not the mass enslavement depicted but many.
Also the larger missions had assistencias too, SLR had three, San Gabriel had two, etc., etc.

Do you think Bob Dylan ever watched Stranger at My Door (1956), another psychological Western?

The preacher’s faith is absolute, with no concern about collateral damage. He adopts a wild horse named Lucifer for Clay to tame, but it almost tramples them all to death in one of the most viscerally frightening animal attacks I’ve seen on film.

I've always appreciated the "no host" kind of get-together.

But communion with nature is, like, spiritual.

Bring in the choir, Brigham.

Green olives stuffed with pimentos and a carafe of vino di tavola should be quite enough for anybody. Don't go to any trouble. We'll suffer in silence. Just keep the wine coming.

*slurp*

Right, Fritz?

And beak kind to our web-footed friend, Herr Braun, who prefers not to imbibe. Maybe some ginger ale for him?

Nice Kareem story mfm.

Here's a shot of him with his head right up there near the "ring" and that other guy behind Wooden was my occasional running buddy on the UCLA campus circuit. Very nice guy and funny story teller. That's not Edward Teller the other Berkeley physicist.

Thanks for mentioning it, but don't mention it.

Here's what the REAL ORIGINAL sasquatch wanted to be, but couldn't pass the physical. It's not well-established as fact (but I'm working on it) that the ACTUAL REAL sasquatch's name is Ma Lone, and HE is a SHE and can dunk the daylights out of the ball when on the late-night rec courts up in Snoqualmie country.

Here is The Captain and his book Mycroft Holmes. In it he goes into detail on the dribbling technique of the Giant Rat of Sumatra. His tail kept him from dunking (too heavy) but he led his team in assists in EVERY SEASON he played the game. He was an indifferent rebounder, though.
Enough of a teaser. Go buy the book.

Now, as the sunset bells tinkle in the background and the night comes down like a...Venusian blind...in a bordello on...hmmm...VENUS...we sit quietly sipping iced Red Dragon tea (the real good Martian kind).

Won't you all join us as the Huffman's scion recites her noble poem about the local water holdings of her millionaire daddy.

Took my ever-lovin' time comin' back to the hotel this morning. Three hours.

Knee swelled up on me and there was no reason to hurry, so I stopped at the college on Yosemite Ave, stalled my way down M St shootin' everythin' in sight. Mmmm M Street, so sweet today.

I hung out at the local version of the Bridge. At least it was in my mind.

Its real name is Vets Memorial Bridge, not "the M St. bridge." I never realized...and I was coming back from the VA clinic. I've been informed that my pro-time is not in the right range, but that's cuz I think I missed a dose last weekend.

The rose garden at Applegate Park is being revamped, as I have related much earlier. They have made a LOT of progress in the last six weeks.

I also stopped by the office of the Historical Society and chatted up the ladies. They gave me this year's MCHS calendar, dealing with the irrigation and banking magnate Charles Henry Huffman.

No captions, I'm too beat. Enjoy the tour.
