I believe I also mentioned something about exercising some self control to stay off cracks. Obviously I have none! See how magnetic HAN is? Haha.
Look at the pic of HAN, you can see the tape on my left ring finger. Those who were there heard a bunch of whining about a thumbs up left hand finger lock about half way up. Unfortunately that got me no sympathy, only a bunch of smack talk.
Thumb down, not bad. Thumb up, not so good. Face climbing, no problem at all. Just do what you can.

Henny, Next time I meet you up there, I'll just try to keep you on the wide cracks and low angle faces. We have to hit up the sail. I think that is about the only route I've put up that you haven't repeated.

All right, I've got a question/offer...Darrell, have you tried/done Mother Superior? If not, want to hit it? If it's old news to you then I've been wanting to lead it. Would you belay and be my motivator? Johnny, Chas, want to work it if you haven't already?
From an article in Mountain Magazine, Issue #106, Mike Geller demonstrates the Leavitation technique on Mother Superior, Mt. Woodson (from http://www.widefetish.com);.

Donny, you've tried/done MS, no? The more the merrier for I've been petering out lately on it. My guns fail doing the crux face move near the top. Just humbles me and reminds me that I'm carrying a bit more weight than I use to. I get back in S.D. tomorrow evening and will get myself back in "training mode". Hopefully, we all can meet up there for a bit of humble pie!

I've done it a bunch. As far as I know there are 3 exits to topping out. The V cracks and going to the right over the bulge. It's a fun lead but you are prety much soloing the thing with that slab right there.

Hey, what ever happened to Mike Geller? And what about the Hatchett brothers? Is anyone in touch with them and can let them know about this thing? How about you Donny, who else was up there kickin' around back then that isn't already on the list? Btw, the comment I made earlier on Troy Wold, you do know him correct? Troy and Marty?

Here's a couple of the Sail. Amazing rock formation with picturesque views. Any history/route info on this one? I'll probably hold off on MS till after I do more of the "easier" cracks. Hell, I haven't even done Robbin's crack. Just trying to work my way around the hill and put in my time. Also, you only get one shot at the onsight.

Add aging local Ron Amick to the list, and pencil me in for bringing a case of beer and the grit n fortitude to get it drank.
Crash pads must be checked at the base of the hill, and any liberty ovals or slung hexes will be confiscated and the owners name put on a dept of obsolescence watch list.
heres an idea... an under30 wimmens stemming competition? could add a bright spot to a day fulla codgers who all climb better n me.
I may seem disgrunteled, but are we ever truly grunteled? Do we even want to be? And how does this tie into al gores global warming deal? We will explore this and the impact of little chocolate donuts on atmospheric carbon levels. Please do your part by not exhaling. Thank you.

Very cool. I was about to ask if anyone had pictures of the Sail, and presto, they appear. Johnny, I think Donny said he put up a problem there so he should know the history. So, whats the story? More than one problem? Is the right side an arete or just rounding of the face? Hard to tell from that second picture (and I assume that's the business problem). The first pic sure has a nice feel to it. Dang, dang, dang! I already need to go back up there!
bvb, any thoughts on other classic gems? Maybe some that are off the beaten path a little.

Ron Gomez...When Vertical Hold gets back to me I think I'm going to need a confirmed name(s) of those that will be putting on the slide show(s). If you could provide me a "back-in-the-day" name(s) via email, that'd help. What do you think about keeping at least one of the presenters identity a surprise until we arrive at the gym Friday night?

Lynne, tentatively you are the highest bidder and have the best and biggest party accommodations unless someone outbids you (figuratively speaking). You said approx. (125) people for a party correct? And can you accommodate overnight campers post climb slide show, Friday, 19th and post climb party on Saturday, 20th on your property if they chose to? If so, which day(s) and how many tents? Why don't you post this information on this thread for everyone to see and email the same and the directions to your place to me if you would. Thanks so much for your help!

Henny, did you already look at Victim of Aids or Aids Victim, 5.12, on the Sunday Afternoon Boulder at the bottom of the hill just above the gate on the left? You already mentioned Phd at the summit, you have to get on this! How about Fall Semester right across the wash/brush, south, from Phd? More of a desperate pumpy ramp/seam than a face climb but I think would fit you well. Here's a picture of Fall Semester, 5.11c:

Jaybro, sites already reserved here for the Bezerkely and No Calers.
For others I have some room, but if people are really serious about staying here they need to email me before February 10th. Need to make parking area arrangements etc. Glad to have everyone, but need to make it happen in a good way. Peace, lynne
