Why was I in YNP yesterday is easy. I was picking up a bicycle.
Meet "Electra."Many thanks to the donor, to neebee and to Powder and to Lilabiene, all helping out in this proj.
It has the cutest little dinger. And there WAS a Happy Face valve cap on it, but YOU KNOW WHO asked nicely for it and how can one say no to a beautiful lady with cheap sunglasses? From Chico. Not me, fer sure. :0)

Public Service Announcement: Diabase is still dolerite, gnome matter who is on it, off it, or addicted to it.
Diabase /ˈdaɪ.əbeɪs/ or dolerite or microgabbro is a mafic, holocrystalline, subvolcanic rock equivalent to volcanic basalt or plutonic gabbro. Diabase dikes and sills are typically shallow intrusive bodies and often exhibit fine grained to aphanitic chilled margins which may contain tachylite (dark mafic glass).
But High Traverse already knows that.

I never close my bedroom door, for I have no bedroom; and kitchenettes have no doors either.We all have our dark side(s).
It's good for our souls to stare at the coals
Every once in a while.
It brings back our fun from our days in the sun
And brings forth a small, knowing smile.
There is no place in my life for a campfire except in the company of other climbers and former climbers.
My life is extended by the yearly waiting for the Facelift now. With nothing to look forward to life is pretty grim and hopeless.
So let me thank all of my friends in advance, just in case I don't make this last bit to the 5,000 post level. They say the last meter is the hardest. Especially if it's solo.

Maybe we can get a Mass Assault going on Sunnyside Bench and all have a look at the view from there. It's obviously too much for the Travelling Wiltberries, that nice, quiet BC couple; as much as I like 'em, they can't take the heat.
