Back on TOPIC!!!!!!!
You can't use the language "God Damn" because you're an atheist.
Atheist says there is no God. So how you damn him? Impossible.
Hippocratic.
And don't give me any such bullsh'it saying it's just words.
God doesn't exist. Why you use this word or if he doesn't exist the word shouldn't exist either.
This is all too simple for your complicated modern brain to comprehend.
And in the end you'll use and try some word jugglery to to defend your rascaldom.
All rascals .....

Every day you speak to him and he speaks to you.
24 hours a day forever.
Still you don't recognize him.
This is the beauty of a real honest to god soul.
You'll recognize him when you're really ready.

Was gonna write something....but hey, this thread is "just a pile of crap" and no ones allowed an opinion if it differs from the hard core anti jesus freaks.
The one thing I am amazed at is the rant rarely ever responds to the suggestions of checking out personally for themselves if there really is a God or Jesus.
So rant on .... and on. Don't notice the beauty around you, the incredible engineering of an eye or the wind you cannot see, or the colors of life, sunsets and peoples of all nations and races that create an amazing spectrum of life and love on this planet.

God's creation is quite a painting, isn't it? Word is, His spiritual realms put the physical one's to shame.

Window Dressing...."his spiritual realms put the physical ones to shame."
Oh Yeah !!! Do they ever. Would love to discuss this topic and some of the incredible things I've seen and learned since Dan died. When a life changing event happens you can choose how you embrace it, contain it, and allow it to pour (or not) into your life...which includes your heart, soul, mind and spiritual being.
It can be life changing or life ending. But the spiritual realms are indeed there to be discovered, if you chose to be a Columbus or a South Pacific navigator looking for an island that you know is out there.....

Maybe God created the eye or the wind or whatever, maybe God didn't. But nobody ever has suggested that Jesus did it
Actually, the apostle John did. This from the bible (John 1):
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. All things were created through Him, and apart from Him not one thing was created that has been created...The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Regards,
-Mike

Rokjox, remember that EF Hutton (I think it was) Ad Campaign about when EF Hutton talks....everyone listens?
Dude, jesus talks to me all the time.....he's god, he can do that. Thing is you have to take some quiet time to hear him. He talks to us through the bible too. Read Psalm 139. Pretty Cool.
Cheers, from Lynne....who's still hurting for all the families and loved ones of the at least 10 fallen climbers over the past couple months. It hurts to lose someone you love.

Well, I for one, have no idea when Jesus is coming back. "Soon" may be just a matter of perspective. Some Christians feel compelled to make these kind of bold proclamations of it, but many of us, Christians or not, are just responding to matters of Jesus, and faith in general, that have been coming up in this thread.
As for the hubris of religious people, there is certainly no shortage. I understand the nausea you feel. I feel it too, frankly. Posers, yeah, sure - all over the place. Of course, there's plenty of hubris to go around. A lot of professing Christians have it, so do a lot of their detractors.
As for the "one-on-one, directly line to God' claims, I just let people claim what they claim. It would be pretty long on 'hubris' for me to tell them how they are or are not talking to God - or how God is or isn't talking to them. You or me finding it difficult to believe is really nothing more than irrelevant.
Anyway, here's to civil, constructive discussions!
Cheers,
-Mike

Okay, finally taking a look at this little play-place yo'all have created. Real fertile ground. Let's start off with something easy. Something right off the shelf, say.
A-Pustule is right, J/C is coming; he is riding a dinosaur of course and pterodactyls, archaeopteryx are already hovering above, and of course J/C has a baby dino in hand. As always believed--nothing new here---J/C is of course Aryan and rather hot, to say the least, even in the rather femmy thongs and Frat Toga. The baby Bronto is proud, as you can see, to be carry the son of God also and notices the other dinos up the hill are checking him out. Times are good! This picture proves beyond a doubt the existence of the Divine and a 6000-year old earth. now STFU.
Further, it is an accepted fact that Jesus is "everywhere" anyway, his second coming will sort of be a bit "after-the-fact". Even this morning, he was on my kitchen counter:

"Dick, It is around 80"
That's some good golfing Howie! I was heading into the 80's last year, then started school this summer, and work, and family...golf is taking a big hit and it's killing me.
How'd you like the British Open? That was fun watching Watson work around that course...cagey he is!
With regards to the OP folks...don't hold your breath!

Uhh, how do you damn him if he DOES exist? How does anyone damn anyone? What is this "damning" all about anyway? I guess its just words after all.
BTW, no god ever existed that man did not invent. So, tell me about YOUR god so I can have the pleasure in disbelieving in him as well. Its such joy.

"Yeah, you are right about that. It is always a balancing act - work, family, golf and whatever else you have on board. I get out there as much as I can which is not as often as I would like."
Yep, I took up golfing since as a compromise to climbing since climbing took up too much time...ah, the irony in that statement!

"This thread is a pile of crap, making promises out of fairy dust."
600+ posts? That's nuthin'- if a thread can exceed 2500 posts solely based on slagging a political party, resulting in virtually nothing productive whatsoever, I have supreme confidence that a thread related to Christianity can do every bit as well (if not better).
Keep on sprayin', folks!
