Life in the Meadows was just that much sweeter when you worked there. Always appreciated the packages that granny left with you.

Damn - I just remembered I have this silly iSight camera built in, and that it has more
uses than just video-chat. Here's me chillin' with Che, taken in the last 5 minutes
(this is what I meant by recent):

Seeing as how Mimi has failed to respond to calls for her photo, and considering that teasing Mimi is one of my favorite hobbies, I'll put up a couple recent shots of her:

Could you re-size the bottom photo so that it is 700 (or less) pixels wide to keep in line with the thread?--cool.

Hey BCD,
Is that a split board? I have been wanting to check one out but I have not found anywhere to demo one. For now, I snowshoe then strap them to my back for the ride. Shoeing is okay but way slow. Whaddaya think? What bindings? What boots?

A friend was telling me about a mutual acquaintance, also a climber, who had been through a couple of big surgeries in the last couple of years. It sounded rough. "How's he doing now?" I asked.
"Oh, he's still living the life," my friend answered.
That's what I see in nearly all of these photos -- people living the life.

Wow. Great thread. Great to see 'real' pictures of everyone. Especially great to see updates on old friends. I posted my squinty eyed, fako Eiger picture earlier. When placed in the mountains, I can usually pull off a plausible look.
There are mountains back there!!
But most of the time, it is all about my family. Last week my bride was honored with the Ohio Governor's 2007 Arts Award.
Here we all are. I am still standing in the back row after all these years. Our daughters are on the right. The honoree is on the far right. Her 89-year-old mom and her sister also came to the fete.

This thread is cool and all, but it has nothing on that bowl full o' kittens!
climbingjones,
you should check them out. They ride pretty much like a regular snowboard. Unless you have a background in skiing it takes a bit of practice to get used to skinning and traversing on the split-skis. But once you get it dialed you'll burn your snowshoes!

Raydog,
We need another thread for how we got our nicknames! I think there is/was another well known climber with the name Crusher and I confused everyone. My (now) husband gave me the nickname of the "Corporate Crusher" when we met (when I described my job), then it just got shortened to Crusher, Crusherooni and all sorts of silly take offs. I guess I'm not what you'd expect when you see a post with the name Crusher! : )

By the way, BCD is pretty good with that splitboard thing. See that steep, thin, snowy cleft dropping from the summit, to BCD’s right in the photo taken on Lamark Col? Many will recognize it as the Mendel Ice Couloir, an ultra- classic ice climb. Well, BCD rode it on his splitboard, solo, last spring.
Unbelievable, you say? He’s got pictures.
