@zBrown:
Just throwin' a shot across your bow. But dig this from Wiki:
Mara Salvatrucha (MS), also known as MS-13 (the 13 representing their Sureño affiliation), is an international criminal gang that originated in Los Angeles, California, in the 1980s. The gang later spread to many parts of the continental United States, Canada, Mexico, and Central America, and is active in urban and suburban areas. Most members are of Central American origin, principally El Salvador.
So what if it started in LA? If some nasty-ass criminal psychos are coming in illegally, I say not good. Do you believe that illegal immigration is an unqualified good? That we should have no border controls? Really? That's all I'm getting at.
In keeping with the thread focus, for your reading enjoyment from the US state department--
https://www.osac.gov/pages/ContentReportDetails.aspx?cid=21308
Key quotes:
According to a Central American University (UCA) poll from January 6, 2016, 24.5% of Salvadorans were victims of crime in 2015.
El Salvador has one of the highest homicide rates in the world,
I feel for the good, law-abiding El Salvadorans. Must suck to live in an s-hole.

The guy in Iowa was not ms13
“Estimates of the size and scope of the gang vary widely,” the report states. “For many reasons, those variations are impossible to reconcile, but the wildly divergent estimates have helped transform the gang into a political football to be used by law enforcement agencies and politicians alike for their own ends.”
The InSight Crime report highlights issues in tracking MS-13 membership nationally and internationally, and emphasizes that the root of the problem is based on law enforcement agencies' different definitions of the word “gang."
The transnational gang first formed in the 1980s in Los Angeles and is known internationally for acts of extreme violence — drive-by shootings, murders and smuggling drugs into the United States.
However, the gang's presence is more of a force in Central America — mainly Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.
So where do you stand?
So what if it started in LA? If some nasty-ass criminal psychos are coming in illegally, I say not good. Do you believe that illegal immigration is an unqualified good? That we should have no border controls? Really? That's all I'm getting at.

@ZBrown:
Not sure what you mean by asking where I stand. What prompted my response was your post:
Authorities: Iowa student killed by Mexican in US illegally
Colorado Chris Watts [White Guy in U.S. legally] admits wife's murder, but blames her for daughters' deaths
Was your point that the "authorities" should not have identified the perp as an illegal immigrant, that it's somehow irrelevant to the story? After all, legal, native-born US residents do plenty of killing, e.g. Chris Watts? Since we DO have an enormous illegal immigration problem, that our borders are indeed too porous, the observation of the perp's status becomes another data point in the case for improving that situation. Clearly, some very unsavory characters, some of them MS13 members, come across the border. Not many, of course, and El Trumpo overstates/obfuscates EVERYTHING, but some will be violent criminals of one sort or another. To believe otherwise is to simply deny reality. Therefore, better border control, fewer illegal immigrants from s-hole countries will result in less crime and a fewer murders. Is this not a goal worth working towards? Sorry, but as a group non-citizens commit crimes at higher rates.
https://www.justfacts.com/immigration.asp#crime_general
Some relevant data:
NOTE: Due to limitations of government crime data, most of the facts below combine all non-citizens into a single category. This category is comprised of people who live in the U.S. legally and illegally. The legal non-citizens undergo background checks before residing in the U.S., while the illegal non-citizens do not.[732]
* Based on U.S. Census data from 2011 to 2015, immigrants who remain in the U.S. and:
are U.S. citizens are 79% less likely than the general U.S. population to be incarcerated in adult correctional facilities.
are not U.S. citizens are 7% more likely than the general U.S. population to be incarcerated in adult correctional facilities.
are from Latin America are 5.1 times more likely to be incarcerated than immigrants from Europe and 6.3 times more likely than immigrants from Asia.[733] [734]
So, in short, to throw out a counter-factual as if it's some legitimate argument against a specific problem is no argument at all. Yeah, white, US citizens commit murder. That does NOT justify allowing OTHER murders into the country. It only adds to the problem. That's where I stand.

How would you identify the potential murderers from the very much larger number of non murderers (in fact non criminals in any manner).
Can the same rule(s) be applied to citizens of the US who raise their children in such a fashion that they become murderers. Can the government sterilize these folks?
BTW, the accused killer was in the United States for at least four years, maybe there's a lag in his criminal gene kicking in?
Your statements seem to imply that you subscribe to the bogus claims of Trump that everyone south of the Rio Grande is a rapist, murderer or person likely to commit heinous crimes.

9-12-2018
Officials with the Kern County Sheriff's Department said that 6 people are dead including the shooter in a mass shooting on Wednesday evening.
At about 5:20 p.m. a man arrived at the trucking business behind Bear Mountain Sports with his wife.
Sheriff Donny Youngblood said that he then shot a man at the trucking business before shooting and killing his wife.
Following the shooting, he then chased a person who witnessed the shooting to the front of Bear Mountain Sports where he shot and killed the witness, Youngblood said.
The man then fled the area to Breckenridge Road where he confronted two people at a home and fatally shot them. He left the home and then hijacked a nearby vehicle with a woman and child inside at Fillmore Avenue. The woman and child made it out safely and were able to escape from the vehicle, Youngblood said.
The man then drove to Edison Highway where he was confronted by a deputy.
When confronted, he turned the gun on himself and killed himself.
In all, five victims and one suspect are dead.

Cancer will claim the lives of 9.6 million people in 2018, accounting for one in eight of all deaths among men and one in 11 among women, the World Health Organization's cancer research agency said on Wednesday.
In a report detailing prevalence and death rates from many different types of cancer, the WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer said the global cancer burden would rise to an estimated 18.1 million new cases this year. This was up from 14.1 million — and 8.2 million deaths — in 2012, when the last global cancer survey was published.

Trump has been sending ms13 to Nicaragua
According to Trump, his administration has removed MS-13 members from the United States “by the thousands,” and has saved whole towns that looked as”[they were] captured by a foreign country.”

Utah has lovely, even fantastic countryside and abundant wildlife....unfortunately, the intelligent apes resident there are a particularily nasty breed bent on despoiling the natural landscape in their feverish quest for short term profits.
Norway nearly falls into “shithole country” status based on two criteria...cost of living and abominable weather.

But you see, Jim, the cost of living and the weather keeps a lotta shitheads away.
Actually Norway is cheaper to travel in than the US as long as you don’t eat out or buy petrol.
Plus, a big plus at that, no worries about bed bugs or having to walk around fat people.
Think you would find an Airbnb in the US like this for $100/nite?
