They do everything to dismantle our Great Constitutional Government by defunding Depts., appointing enemies to the Dept to be the head, and brainwash the supporters to go along with it even though it's going to screw them personally.

The biggest scam in the Patriot movement is Low Taxes
The One thing that would demonstrate True Patriotism would being paying your fair share of taxes.
What is the Number One thing you can do for this country as a Patriot, give the Government money to operate.

But no, since these guys aren't true Patriots but just shills for their leaders they spew anti-patriotic memes of the need for Low Taxes for the rich and Corps. It's a cult, these people are easily led to anger, fear, blame, greed, by hypnotic talk show leaders. They live in a bubble of misinformation.

Defund the Gov. and it's protections and services die, and let fascism rule in it's place, that is the end game and the Right Wing leaders are using their followers to make that happen

As horrifying as it seems, this seems like the most rational explanation to me. A few small points I might add- not everything needs to be a conspiracy of a few evil rich folks. A bunch of companies and rich people can operate locally to rig their judicial system, gerrymander districts, etc. and the emergent properties of this collective pursuit of self-interest leads to the same thing. That said, I do expect that very rich folks pursuing their own best interest would organize multi-decade plans to transform government through accumulation of small but important changes while people are distracted by polarizing issues. It makes logical and rational sense, just to achieve an objective that most of us don't think is right. I think the fundamental role of government is to create space for people to pursue their self interest, but also create healthy boundaries that stop the pursuit of some from hurting others. We are totally failing in that in a catastrophic way.

Some part of me is not compassionate for the people who vote against their self-interest, but rather vindictive that they will be worst hit with the consequences of their own actions. I have the financial means to go elsewhere in relative style if it gets too ugly. But what world for my kids? And USA has too much military power to ignore the consequences to the world of our implosion. The future is blurry.

Doesn't have to be direct federal funding C. Wilmot. Could be a tax break here, favorable legislation there, or relaxation of federal bureaucratic controlled red tape. They're getting plenty of help, otherwise you wouldn't have seen them feeding Hillary, chewing up Trump and before that 8 years of lockstep compliance with the Obama myth.

The cost of having this president and his family on top is reported for the first month to have exceeded the cost of having the Obama family on top for a year. Taxpayers money?

How about paying no taxes at all, then getting back EIC, ACA subsidies, rent assistance, foodstamps, 99 weeks of UI, then retire early on SSI disability.

The Koch bros give the CPB major funding every year. The CPB created and largely funds NPR...

Something to think about when you listen to "public" radio

Sure, I would like to not see them underwriting NPR, but what are you going to do? It costs money to keep the lights on and the radio tower up. Most, if not all, major organizations give money philanthropically. It reduces their tax burdens considerably. I have the feeling that if the monies pad for donations to nonprofits were eliminated as a tax break, those donations would be reduced significantly, by both corporations and individuals.

The issue is not that they give, nor that their giving is accepted, but are there strings attached in the giving and acceptance. I understand that NPR has resisted the attempts by the Koch brothers to influence programming and reporting. Do you have information that would indicate otherwise?

I listen to public radio stations throughout the country as I travel, and the content varies. My main station is WAMC, with Alan Chartock as CEO. While I do, at times, tire of his voice personally, I think the station is pretty damned good.
