Must have been torture being around that perfect rock and not be able to climb

It wasn't easy but I did get some laughs. Mouse has some health issues also(as most of us do) but he was still able to get some climbing in. At one point he said he got to climb more than wayno, and at least he was not on the bottom of the food chain. A good laugh was had. Great to see you again, Brian.

A big shout out for Big Mike, who made a great travel partner. Mike, the truck finally died last night as Masha pulled up out front. I'm glad it didn't happen out in eastern Oregon somewhere.

Here's a few more pics.

Phylp and Spider chatting

Hardly Visible, Jim Donini, Moosedrool and James talking shop in the parking lot.

Moosedrool entertaining Grippa and half of Mouse.... Lol

What a great trip.

Thanks to Wayno and Masha for putting up with all the stuff i brought, and stopping every couple hours so the parapalegic could stretch his cramping muscles... Lol

Damn! I'm glad we made her drive with her lights off buddy!! Lol

The food was simply AMAZING!. Restaurant quality food while camping at 6000 feet. Pretty impressive to say the least. Thanks to chef Wayno and all his helpers, Masha, Mark, Fritz (Killer short ribs Fritz!!) , Heidi, Phylp, Mouse (made an excellent potato salad) and of course anyone I forgot.

Fritz and Heidi- Thanks for your excellent hospitality! Your guest bed was an amazing respite for a weary traveller. Thanks for putting this whole thing together! What a blast!

Jim and Angela- Thanks for all the wisdom and the stories. It was a great pleasure to meet you and i'm sorry we didn't get to rope up more. I hope to correct that next time we meet up. Tell Angela thanks for the topical ibuprofen and the interesting conversations as well. Sorry i didn't get to see you guys before we left, i was packing all morning, and you were gone when we went to say goodbye.

Moose: Thanks for the cheese n' sh#t bro! Lol and all the laughs of course. It was a great pleasure to hangout with you and watch you climb. Give yourself a little credit you're pretty good for such a late bloomer... ;)

Kevin: Stoked, patient, encouraging, fun and funny. These are all qualities i love in a partner. Thanks for all the rides buddy! Thanks for dragging me off the beaten path and letting me use all your stuff. It was a blast! See you soon in Squish!!

Greg: Thanks for the beta man! Even though i never used a single piece of my own.. So thanks for that too! Lol. It was a pleasure to meet u dude, and i look forward to future adventures together.

Mouse: It's always good to see u bud!! I was really sorry to see you having so much trouble with your lungs. I hope your surgery goes well. Thanks for all the laughs bud! See you at Facelift! Sandra and i are gonna make a point of coming to see you in merced! We'll go raid all the taco trucks!! ;)

Paige, Pat and Jack: It was a pleasure. Thanks for all the stretching help Paige. You saved me from inevitable disaster. Pat it was very nice talking to you and thank you for sharing Jack's story. Jack, thanks for the inspiration and the top rope! It's always nice to meet other paraplegia survivors and it was very cool to hear your climbing tales around the campfire.

Phylp: It's always nice talking to you! Let's make a point of roping up next time!

Em: Thanks for the coffee! It was nice to meet you. I loved your little yellow umbrella with ears... And the balls you had to just walk right by the ranchers house... Lol!!!

Don and Mari: Saugy!! So nice to finally meet you dude!! Have fun down south and gimme a ring when you make it back north! I look forward to future adventures with u guys!!

Brokedown, Twp, Mark, Spider, Dave, James, Imstein, and others i might have forgotten, it was lovely to make your acquaintance and thanks for all the laughs!!

Flaming Rock, Day 3

Spot the climbers:

With just one 60m rope the best way off Raindance is to rap from the Tribal Boundaries anchor. Of course, with nobody waiting in line, this gave a perfect opportunity for some TR fun

PS Phylp flashed both climbs but she was moving so fast I din't have time to take pix. What a woman!

Great photos everyone! TFPU!

EKAT! If you like the color yellow: you should have seen Em Knot's yellow rainsuit and her small, but effective yellow umbrella. I hate myself for not taking a photo.

Thanks for the more photos. Thanks for the words.

Crazy how the color theme works here, from shirt to postcard to hat to shirt.

WOAH Em! Thanks for the awesome photo sequence! Ya crack of dung did not go down as promised, but at least crack of doom went clean (on tr)! Sorry I had to skip out early on thursday, but it made my commute home and decompression before my 530am wake up call much easier.

Till next time friends!

That's very gracious of you Em. Moving fast on a toprope is not quite as hard as moving fast on lead to say the least. And you didn't report the 30 minutes I took to get 15 feet between two bolts on the next route we did! I kept having visions of a sprained ankle just before my trip to London!

But gosh, I love that place. So beautiful there. I loved the wildflowers on the approach to Flaming Rock and Bumblies.

Angela and I are back in e-mail land after a couple of days in Olympic National Park. Had a great time! What a way to meet new friends and renew with old. Kudos to Fritz and Heidi for putting it on and Wayno and Marsha for the fabulous dinners!
Everybody was great....the evenings abounded with campfire tales honed from years of experience in the outdoor realm and we even got to climb a bit.
Moosedrool is indeed "rookie of the year." He started at the tender age of 57 and with his fitness and enthusiasm the sky is the limit....the sky being a relative term.
Did a pitch with Hardly Visible and would have with Big Mike if a sudden storm hadn't blown in.
Hope it all happens again next year!

Kath- Glad you liked my photo! I was pretty happy with the way it turned out! The lighting was incredible at the time.

Jim- I climbed Funky Bolt on your rope! :) I was just about to finish my figure 8 when that storm hit!

Roger- Moose talked to Mouse. He said his internet is out for a couple days and he's working on pics.

Here's a couple more pics.

Great pix, Mike! Keep 'em coming!

Agreed. Mike, your photos are superb. My fave is "Phylp and Spider chatting" posted June 29 - great double exposure.

Another fave is Kevin's beautiful panorama of Twin Sisters.

Looking forward to Mouse's pix, and wishing him good health.

Thanks to ALL for making it a most memorable trip. The climbing was great; the cameraderie was superb.
