guilty as charged.
edit: hope you did not already have the book; it is a tremendous tome on the history and development of big wall climbing.

So first thing on this Christmas morning I opened a package that contained an original piece of art work "White Mountains from Lone Pine"
I love that. Thanks Ms P!!!!
Next I opened a gift containing 6 cards, which I absolutely adore. The photos are credited to Bill Serniuk. I hope you agree with me that these pictures are stunning. In fact they are so good I'm going to frame some for the wall.
Next (I’m so lucky this year) there is a book, but not just any book it’s a guidebook for Mammoth Area Rock Climbs. On the cover my SS has written, “Santa is always seeing posts about Brits who come to California to climb in Yosemite. But this area is just as beautiful and has thousands of great peaks and alpine climbs besides the crags described here. Easy camping, tons of hotels, easy access, huge variety, uncrowded. Put this area on your must visit list!
Also on the front cover is a message, Santa says “You can never have too many guide books!” I certainly can’t disagree with this statement. I love guide books and can stare at them for hours.
The front cover also declares that this is “Santa’s special Edition Annotated Guide” and turning the pages I can see why.
The guide is full of these useful post it note messages.
Thank you SS. If you wish to remain anonymous I will understand BUT I am going to email the person on here who I am 99% sure you are. If you receive that email I hope you will let me know if I am right (or wrong).
OK I’m off to read my guide book for the Mammoth Area. If anyone has read my TR for Snake Dike you will know that 34 years ago I told myself I would one day climb in Yosemite Valley. I will know openly state that because of my SS I will one day climb in the Mammoth Area and this guide book will not just sit on my book shelf with all the other guide books.
Thank you SS.

Thanks Pennsylvania Santa! Painstakingly packaged in bomber twin ziplocs, which I will repurpose as part of the gift!
"This is from my stash of homemade maple syrup from the 2013 season. I usually tap a dozen or so tress, and boil down a hundred or so gallons of sap to get 2 gallons of syrup….from Norway maple instead of sugar maple, as I much prefer the flavor…."
My staple is Trader Joe's Grade B...looking forward to sampling a finer brew....

Bluelens- Not to try and talk you our of the buckwheat pancakes, but the *proper* pancake for this is my great-(great?)-grandmother's.... It's a very old PA Dutch recipe, and comes out somewhere between a crepe and what most people think of as a pancake. I meant to include the recipe, but forgot due to chasing a 3 year old.... :)
2 eggs
1 cup flour
2 cups milk
1 tbs sugar
2 tbs oil
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
On a related note, seems I posted a pic of the syrup being made a long while back.... http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=1197468&msg=2071137#msg2071137
Enjoy, and I'm very much looking forward to the 2014 sugaring season!

hmmm, still, thank you to my secret santa...
am delving into the muir book now and it
is deep-good read! will always remember how BOTH books
'alighted' and 'landed' here...
both were such fun, and in their 'entrances' as well!

It's arrived! Secret Santa from Sand City....practically my neighbor....my house watcher-overer has e'ed me that I have something from "Secret Santa, Sand City" awaiting for me! Can't wait, but must.
Christmas before, during AND after the 25th! Works for me!
PS. I wonder if you'll reveal yourself when I open it. A lot of Santas this year have remained Top Secret. I did too. Kinda fun twist on things!

Yay! I got a magnetic locking biner - woot woot! I've been eying these for a while, but it seemed excessive as i own a bunch of lockers...this is a perfect gift (something i really wanted but wouldn't buy myself)! Thanks!!
I also got a big ole bag of chalk, which is great b/c I'm heading to hot humid Thailand soon...and last time I was there, there is no good chalk. Might take extra and leave some behind for those in need...
and...some hot chili sauce that looks delicious.
Perhaps my favorite thing was the card (ok not really, but it did make me laugh), SS writes "i know it's probably terrifying getting edibles from a Supertopo person... but it's my Gramma's secret chili sauce". :) yum! The card envelope had a really nice snowman drawing. I love the extra little touches some of our ST members put into this. really cool.
Woot woot thanks Secret Santa! I love Supertopo and this exchange!!!!!
