there's no politics in there. it's vile hatred. it's disgusting and has NO place on this forum. He has other comparable gems. 99% of the time this is the kind of posts he made on this forum.

again, since some folks seem to have missed both the old and new math: cmac whacked four avatars. two of those avatars are known for their liberal politics. two of them are known for their conservative politics. all four had drawn attention for abrasiveness aside from their politics.

i note that in the aftermath, there are far fewer political threads and more climbing threads. more to the point, fewer of the climbing threads seem to be getting hijacked by gratuitous partisan flackery. my guess is that won't last, but maybe we can get another round of whacking.

when tocqueville came to america some two centuries ago, he was amazed at the way americans carried on about god and politics. i hold no hope that we will successfully banish politics from st or any other site. i do prefer that the politard threads not be overwhelming; that the partisan flacking not get dragged out into climbing threads; and that folks get held to some sort of nastiness standard.

i'm not crazy about the post-hippy culture of entitlement that enables some of the crap we see on here. good on cmac for bringing the hammer down.

bluering, you continue to want to view this event as though CMac, the unfair, oppressive liberal crushed the evil Republicans.

It's not about politics, blue...it's about business. CMac & co have been remarkably restrained in their moderation efforts for a long, long time (did you watch his video? It's pretty good & enlightening), and made a decision that the negativity had become so significant it was degrading ST as a whole. He drew a line, and the 4 people he chose were significant contributors to the negativity.

Sure...there's quite a few more who have had similar negative contributions, including you & I. But a line was drawn, and those 4 were on the other side of it. It's unfortunate...I think at least 1 or 2 of them could 'reform' their presence here...but it's not a conspiracy. Complaining that XX or YY should've got the boot only makes you look like a whiney victim.

Like I've tried to say many times (today at least) I really do not think of myself as better than anyone.

I'm not the leader of anything...

Please Bluehand... take off of that pedestal. Because even if its just in your head that I am greater than you (when I am not) it can sometimes come off as you are lesser.... when you write like that.
