oh for heaven's sake

give the Chief a break

the guy did serve on Navy ships for many years

someone has to do it and he chose to do it

he is entitled to a service pension and government Medicare

doesn't mean all his needs are met by sucking on the Nanny Teat of Big Government

he gets his own coffee nowadays for christ's sake

Ron, given that you are a veritable scientific expert....why don't you explain to us the mechanisms of ocean acidification, and the resulting effects on the coral reefs themselves?

I bet I pay more than you.

Yep, potential... as in smart people don't pretend to know the future with certainty... only idiots and religitards do.

Where's the solutions?

Once again you show your complete lack of understanding.

Base i sense you are conflicted. On the one hand you are in a sector of science that is applying technology very effectively to help gain our independence from the middle east and also provide centuries worth of clean burning natural gas that if totally embraced would get us 50% of the way to the CO2 reductions the nonsensical CAGW crowd is calling for. On the other hand you decry the "crimes against nature" that humanity, and in particular overuse of fossil fuels, inflicts on this poor earth. At times you must feel like John Muir with a jackhammer. You may at times lecture us on earth history (a wee bit arrogantly) and your opinion that CAGW is a proven science, but i commend you and the other applied scientists that are revolutionizing the fossil fuel industry and providing for a better tomorrow. At the least you are genuine, unlike Ed who i now know is heavily invested in implementation of IPCC recommendations.

I most assuredly pay more than you in cost share. 38%. Up from 25% this last fiscal year.

no honey, again you leap to a conclusion through erroneous assumption

unlike you, I am not on a government healthcare program

I pay 100% of my private health insurance premium

assuredly so

Not when the coral isn't healthy but still surviving.

I knew you wouldn't get it, as you have difficulties with concepts that are not black and white.

Then I ask ,, once again,, how did Coral Survive other CO2 fluctuations and extremes. seeing as how they are old as 4200 years or more.

Ron, what is the level of atmosphereic C02 now, and what was the highest level reached prior to the industrial revolution?

Ron, you are aware that those reef fishes require... uh, reefs for habitat, right? Do you know what increase CO2 and global warming do to reefs? Of course you don't... you find a tiny piece of an enormous puzzle you know nothing about and think you have it all worked out. You are a simpleton... thank god you stuff dead things rather than partake in any decisions that affect the rest of us.

And YOU are a highly educated NITWIT without the actual hands on ground level to go with it..

classic attack those those with "education" from those who don't have it

Anti-intellectualism is hostility towards and mistrust of intellect, intellectuals, and intellectual pursuits, usually expressed as the derision of education, philosophy, literature, art, and science, as impractical and contemptible.

I'll take high education every fuking day, Alex

Survived far more extremes that present

You keep saying that, and I'm asking you to SHOW it. Show us the level of CO2 in the atmopsphere today, and the year and concentration of the highest level reached during one of these "far more extreme" conditions you claim existed in the past.

Ok Ron, I'll help you out.

We recently crossed the 400ppm threshold, 400.06 to be exact (via NOAA measurements at Mauna Loa).

The last time Earth's atmosphere contained 400 parts per million of carbon dioxide was more than 2.5 million years ago, during the Pleistocene Epoch.

2.5 million is > 4200.

So, NO, despite your repeated claims, the coral reefs have NOT survived "more extreme" CO2 levels than we are experiencing today.

Ron, when is the last time you snorkeled a living reef with an ecologist and an 80 year old lifetime fisherman from the area?

Me? Last December. Tell me again about all those "paper , article and such" and how I lack hands on experience.

And NO, coral reefs have NOT experienced higher CO2 levels in the last few million years... because the Earth has NOT experienced a 400 ppm CO2 atmosphere for a few million years.

Bummer, my initial impression was correct... you are an idiot.

WESCHRIST

I do not think you pay more than I do. You can't. You are unemployed, part of the modern day entitlement brigade thus you get it for free. Obamacare took care of that.

ok Chief,

I don't know if Weschrist is unemployed or not, and even if he was I can't see how that is relevant

but lets assume he is, you say he get health insurance for free and you say he gets it for free due to the new health legislation?

how so, Chief? what part of the legislation gives Weschrist free healthcare right now?

Not a problem at all.

I worked my way through college, paid for it myself and have been a self employed carpenter since 82.

Cool the rhetoric,AYE.
Problem with that?
