After 49 years cooking in New Hampshire, where water behaves like the science books of my youth, and 6 years living at 8100' in Colorado, where it does not, I finally bought a pressure cooker.

Fritz, that javalina pic reminds me of a story from a stint i did in rehab in a farm setting. Along with all the expected farm type chores that were part of our attempts at recovery, there were 20+ chickens who free ranged in a mobile pen that moved every few days about the property and provided tons of eggs to supplement the kitchen supplies.
A visit to the hen house was a big hit with little ones on visiting day, until the time my roommate walked out with his wife and six year old to find all the carnage you would expect from a pine marten visit: feathers and bodies everywhere. He told his little girl that they were just sleeping.

This juvenile Aberts squirrel likely froze to death in -16* temps and was pushed from the nest stilll curled up in slumber, landing here as he was found.
