^^^ I would guess he used his rock skis. Can you believe this here in the Tahoe Sierra? Driest year on record and yesterday in Sac. the high temperature record was broken. We're doomed as skiers living in this hell.

Yeah Charlie doomed as skiers, but as rock climbing goes.....
I was swimming at mammoth pools on New Years day if you count jumping in and trying to catch my breath as I raced for the shore as swimming. There is more dirt than snow on the back side of Mammoth.

If they weren't rock skis when he started...

Can you believe this here in the Tahoe Sierra?

Yes I can. Two years ago was definitely worse up to this point, and I've seen some pretty grim winters over the years.

It'll happen. Or not. In the meantime, I've been sticking to climbing.

Nice Nature!! Glad you like your new ride!

Sweet video. It's still pretty rocky up here too. Although the 50cm's we got last night should help!

Too bad it's saturday..
:)

It was raining up to 1200m or so.. Things will be a little wet i imagine.

Busy..

On the gondie now finally.

It's super windy in Tahoe right now. We're supposed to see a couple inches of snow today. Not much but I'll take it!

That's good advice from where I'm sitting Bruce. Or laying, for that matter.Think I'll keep my concrete trowel in the shop today. Maybe tomorrow or Monday.

Ya Bruce, for sure. It's pretty heavy up here. Everything is pretty buried on the runs now. Got one run so far. Went up the gondie thos morning because i knew they wouldn't get solar open.

Now i'm waiting again at solar

And they just cracked it!

It's been an average snow year up here so far, with the exception of Bridger Bowl--they have 150+ inches so far with a 33" dump in 4 days last week.

Warm temps and winds starting up, but more snow is on the way :-)

Nice WTF! That's pretty darn funny.

We're finally starting to get some coverage here. I'm home now. Got a couple nice fresh runs in and decided to call it since it was so busy, and i was supposed to have accupuncture this morning.

Unfortunately he got stuck in his driveway, and was waiting for the plow, so cancelled it..

Tomorrow should be good too, and it will be a couple days before they open the alpine probably. 100 cm's later. ;)

Not bragging, but had a chance to shred the gnar with the pseudo-bro-in-law (I'm not married to his wife's sister) last week.

Titcomb 'Mountain'.

Bandit sidecountry, ducking ropes. Oh, yeah.

750' of awesome. (Now, to be honest, that might be hypotenuse hyperbole.)

Trees.

It's OK to be jealous.

Seriously, this is getting VERY serious. This thread should be on the front page every day highlighting all kinds of outrageous snow adventures…. It's a sad sad season here in California. I'll be leaving hotter-than-summer-temps in Santa Cruz soon for Bozeman and hoping that at least up there they are getting some reasonable stuff. Haven't been on boards since December. Not good. not good. Getting tired of two wheels.

ts called the climate change deniers are wacked thread.

Geez Bruce, ah, duh, I totally get that. I'm lamenting the outcome.
As for my CO2 emissions. Being retired they are pretty reduced. (Unless I eat something funky). I probably bike, hike and run more miles in a month than I now drive.

But thanks for the education, anyway.

Get used to it.

Yep, 'fraid so. The bitch is that at my age it's not like my skill increases every year, but certainly my caution does. The last few years I've had to really take stock every time I went to buy a new bike or new skis…."at my age is this really a wise investment?" The problem is you get to a certain age where you can finally afford the equipment that could have made a huge difference when I was younger.
OK enough, boo hoo, I'm getting old crap.
End of thread drift, back to regularly scheduled Shredding!
