Oh Andy that is a bummer-and you really hooked me up amazingly, I was thrilled/so excited when I opened my Secret Santa package... I hope your gift is on the way!

....sorry for the delays in posting, but, here is the AWESOME gift that I got from Andy (from across the pond in the UK)-I absolutely LOVE it, and wanted to make sure to give it a proper presentation...

This is a signed print by an artist friend of Andy's, Anya Simmons. She had offered to paint a picture of their choosing, and they selected a painting of the millstones around Stanage Edge in the Peak District. This is one of only 20 additional prints she did, signed by her (www.anyasimmons.co.uk). So amazing & beautiful... Millstones were used for grinding wheat and other grains-as modern technology took over, some were still half carved, left where they were. This is a climbing area where Andy climbs regularly... I so hope i get a chance to visit the UK and climb there... here is a description of the area...

"The finest of the gritstone edges and by quite a margin, with over 4km of exposed rock, in a setting of unrivaled grandeur. Stanage has to be the most popular climbing destination in the country,... The cliff has routes of every grade from the easiest of rambling chimney climbs to routes at the very limit of human ability... enough here to keep most climbers busy for at least half a lifetime...

here's a pic of Andy climbing there, to get an idea of it-

Thanks so much Andy, your gift was very much a thrill and above & beyond-love my new artwork!!!!!! It's so cool too, because I have several artist friends who I have been lucky enough to get signed artwork from, so to have this beautiful piece added to the mix is really stellar-it fit's in so perfectly, it will always hang on my walls. Secret Santa is a great thing for the holidays, thank you Strider for getting us all together like this. I've met such cool people, Harrison last year, Fogarty (thank you for last year!), and this year Andy & Edge!

I really hope I get to climb in Stanage Edge sometime (and it really could be possible, my family wants to get back to the UK). I've always wondered and wanted to try gritstone. Thank you so much Andy-cheers!!

Well, well, well....

It seems there were a few hiccups but I believe with one exception, everyone has received their gift, yes? If you have not received your gift please, please, please let me know. This is not the kind of thing you should just accept and move on. We are all friends here and while we can make allowances for the complications of life, that is no excuse for no gift.

Again, as always, I am sorry for the delayed catch up on my part. I have been on a climbing road trip to Joshua Tree and am now in Texas poaching a friends Internet. And after this I am in Hawaii for 17 days with very limited Internet access. I will be back home on feb 7th and will definitely be able to catch up with any possible remaining problems then.

Andy, I sent you an email but I also want to say here that you do have a gift but it is the type of gift that takes time to arrive. The good news is that it is a gift that keeps on giving, for 6 to 12 months at least. If you would like to know I can tell you, otherwise, hopefully the first week of February it will arrive. Please keep me updated if/when it does arrive so we can make sure the across the pond shipping is working as it should.

To everyone, thank you so much for participating. I believe for the most part it was another successful year. I am honored to be a part of this and love giving back with my time in some small way to everyone who spends so much time making this place a great spot for climbers on the Internet. One of these years we will have to get C-Mac or sign up and play!

Happy New Year to everyone and I hope your year is filled with many climbing adventures!
