@adatesman.

Up in the northwest...Bradford, home of Kendall motor oil, Zippo lighters and Case knives. If I had stayed in Pa I would have migrated down to the southern part, maybe around York where my brother lives. I miss many parts of it but not the day to day living in harsh winters.

This is so cool.

I couldn't help myself and just opened my gift.
I applied the Christmas eve rule and went for it.
Freaking rad!

And here I was worrying that my biners would freeze.

Thank you, secret santa, that is such a cool gift!

Unreal....my grandfather lived in Turtlepoint and raised beagles...among other things. I went to Penn. Did you go to Pitt Bradford or down at the main campus? Hows weather? When I was there in early Dec....no snow yet...just cold gray rain.

Merry Christmas!

Small world. I grew up outside Bath, PA (Chapman Quarries, to be exact), nearish to Aric. PSU grad like most of my family, still have relatives across the state in Reading, Catawissa, and Perryopolis.

Expecting plenty of Secret Santa pics by this time tomorrow.

Really small world. Turtlepoint is a longish walk from here and was part of my school district. (Population, like, 100 for the lurkers.) Who was your grandpa? I'm sure I or my family know him. I went to Pitt @ Pgh. But I went to summer camp at UPB. :-)

Just a dusting of snow...thank goodness. I've slept in the Buffalo airport enough for a lifetime. After hurling into my baggy on the tarmac in Pittsburgh after praying for my life, I quit taking the little hops into Bradford.

So enjoying this thread and good vibes. May they be with us all throughout the coming year, and more.

Thank You very much Tony, I will enjoy this read, it is new to me.

Yo Fatrad, your investigative skillz were lacking on this one lol, but glad you liked the gift!

Merry Christmas Eve, Brothers and Sisters.

Woo Hoo! I cleaned up! Look at all the cool loot I got from Johntp, I mean Santa.

I haven't seen either movie or read the books.
The guide book has cool signatures in it like Layton Kor's on the West Face topo.
I need to check it out some more.
Note the beak in the photo. It's from Bridwell's rack. I'll use it on my next few attempts of Southern Man.
Woot!

Thanks Santa.

The Third Man on the Mountain video is by and large pretty cheesy, but there are a few really sweet climbing scenes courtesy of Gaston Rebuffat.
