Man, I still can't get over all the huge pads everybody carries now. I was watching one of the guys trying lemon ciffon and poping off onto a 3'x3'chushy pad. I remember flinging off that greasy knob in the sun and having to dodge the stumps and bushes on impact. Times have certainly changed. haha

Wasn't downgrading your ascent Darrell, was just rating it as I see it. And again, who am I to say, you just soloed it! Most of the crack is a lesson in pain control!

It was a tongue in cheek smack talk jab at REIGN 1 for his use of the words "used to be rated". I had to spend the afternoon listening to two smack talkers without having any reinforcement/back-up of my own. My ears were burning by the time the day was over. ha. If that was any indication of what the shindig will be like it could be brutal.

Henny, You and Powell used to have smack talk game. But you guys ran into pro smack talkers. Your best off just licking your wounds and try to come up with something (or anything) to smack talk about. hahaha
Lucky for you that you still climb pretty good and that speaks enough smack for you right now.
Remember the meadows trip one July. When Bob Hutchingson saw my guide booksitting on a rock and handed it to me saying it must be mine because it only had one tick in it? hahaha

Well done, Henny.
What do you think it would be rated at Rubidoux, 5.10a?

Rick, you trying to just stir things up, get me in trouble, or both? It's already hostile enough down there when you're part of a Rubidoux raiding party.

Henny, When do you think your going to woodson again? I'll try to make sure I'm out of town so you can climb in peace. The nails 11.a? Sounds about right. Haughelstine is trying to get me to commit to a weekend trip to jacks city? I guess it's some crag out in the middle BFE or something. Supposed to be a confidence building crag? If so I would think Dimes must have climbed there.

Guys, come on, Hard As Nails harder than IHMT? Good Lord no! The start to H.A.N. is a bounce up to a good face hold (RH) to another good edge (LH), then requiring face climbing technique to a crappy/weird, thumbs down/thumb-cam finger jam (LH), which enables you to balance up to your feet on to the same face holds (11b). The crack above, IMHO, is 5.10d/5.11 (with pain) to the top. IHMT is so much more powerful and thin/overhanging at the start. Kids these days are calling it 5.12 but I can't climb 5.12 so I rate it 11c/11d and, I agree, is definitely the benchmark for Woodson 5.11c's.
On that note, for your enjoyment, here's the video I and a friend did in the recent past of IHMT, for those who haven't seen it already on YouTube:

Henny, I'd love to do a video of you on Hard As Nails!
