On the south side of the Merced.
Over across the river.
Looking back at the mouth of a short high-water river channel at the bend.
The center of the Universe, folks.

These pics are especially for Piton Pete, master of the piton and the piano and piano hauling on the wall; and for our local peripatetic Pole, MooseDrool, swimming in his native water and doing the Australian crawl.
This may settle the bet you made.

Dudes, I am not the one you seek. Believe me!
Don't I have credentials? No, as a matter of fact.
My wallet was in my backpack when it disappeared the other night.
So I may share the Dude's spirit and his weed, but never his bottle.
We drink like civilized men: He has his own 40 and I have mine.

No matter where in the world you go, there is no good reason not to have a camera along.

Driven around in the back of the truck cab.
Ego-driven.
What drives us? Why do we climb?
We climb to place bolts, silly.

Yellow Pines!
Slowly I returned...scene by scene, frame by frame...Naturally, the walk along the river calls for another round of talk about safety. The main topic of our safety meeting: Who leads the pitch across the bridge? Who follows and who takes pics?
Fish Finder led in style. I missed taking the pics cuz I was scarfin' the last couple hits on the 'refreshments.'[Click to View YouTube Video]

No, I'd rather go in the Ford pickup, granny gear for the sand & if I need it, a shovel in the bed.
And the camera lying in the seat next to me.
Sorry. Drifted off.
Where were we?
Oh, yeah..."the Eastside Ride."

Ron Anderson, not that he's such a "grate" rock 'n' roll musician, see, but he can jam, all the same...
Well, his pa worked for the defense establishment, JUST LIKE THESE HIPPIES!
Chew on that.
I gotta take a dump.
No offense, richross, please, sir. :0)
But we'll have no protests here, no riots.
How about some eye ball rest?

No, Ron, wait! It was in the Courthouse Park, after dark, I was on a lark.
I wandered away around the corner of the courthouse for a bit, came back, no pack, I was jacked, but had only myself to blame for my geriatric lack
of attention.
It was 'round midnight.
Amy Winehouse/'round Midnight.

All in all, it was "A most disturbing event."
And I might have liked to shoot off some rounds to help vent,
But I suppose my anger's now come and went.
(I spoke with neebee. Thanks, friend!)
But thanks all the same, dude. Yer such a gent.

Visit Facelift and introduce yourself. She may have some espresso for you.
You could share some ladyfingers, too, maybe?

Or you might try these with her as a challenging variation on technique.
Meantime, I'm being forced to vary my technique, simply to keep shooting till a new lens lends itself to my use.
I consider it a challenge. It may be what I needed, as I discussed with neebee.
(Point of etiquette, here: It's never 'neebs' unless yer 'zeebs.' Otherwise, I rely on your gentles' good offices in that regard. 'Just sayin'.)
I'll manage, somehow. I'm good at "muddling through."

Okay, enough 'rowdy' talk.
Ladies, forgive us 'ancient teen-agers' and our C4 picnic "table talk."
Please.
Thank you.
Here's for neebs, for being such a vibrant part of The Flames and ALL the threads;
and for being such a grate sport about our way of doing things of which she might disapprove in her own kids.

Really, thanks, Mommie.
Wish I had one of those purty cards to show right now, too.
"Quilt thou not forgivest me?"--SnakeSpeare (the divil in me)
Act Three, Scene 4 of Hamlet (no plays on words, promise, just the real dill)
Hamlet:
Such an act
That blurs the grace and blush of modesty,
Calls virtue hypocrite, takes off the rose
From the fair forehead of an innocent love
And sets a blister there...
O, such a deed
As from the body of contraction plucks
The very soul, and sweet religion makes
A rhapsody of words. Heaven's face doth glow
O'er this solidity and compound mass,
With tristful visage, as against the doom,
Is thought-sick at the act.

Guten Tag:
Just thought I'd drop in for another go at Der wilde Berg-und-Tal-Fahrt auf Herr Maus.
Interesting that you should mention The Bull. We just celebrated his and wife Reita's 70th wedding anniversary yesterday (that's 70 earth years). I'm in the middle there. I've got the Bull's back so to speak. Grandma Chele is to my left and sprinkled throughout are her various kids and grandkids and the biggest guy (crouching down & taking my back), who is my nephew. It may just be coincidence, but then again, it may not, but ever since I've been posting on the thread, my hair has gotten whiter.
white power? I'll ask Carlos next time I "see" him.

Yellow Pines!
Slowly I returned...scene by scene, frame by frame...
GREAT recovery!
keep taking them pics...
great cameras, sure do help, but the eye-and-spirit of it all,
is the 'one behind it'...
say, oh my, did not even think on this:
YOU were up at yosemite or not??
and NEVER did we all talk of YOU getting your BIKE!!!
oh my, :(
it is still there for you, :(
awww, and thanks for the notes of politeness, :)
and will go check out the link, too...
say, be praying--got some heavy stuff on my mind, as to some folks that
are dear to me... private stuff, as to their troubles, though...
but--prayers are welcomed...

You got it, sister.
You're my "stoned partner," as Jumpin' Vernon Brown used to say on KYOS 1480 AM.
You're esteemed, appreciated and quite talented, as well;
and it's so good of you to "treat" folks the way you do with your arts and crafts and paintings.
Today, Monday Monday, saw me up there again...wouldn't you just know it!
The bike will still be there, I hope, the next time. I'll check with you on that, Okey Dokey?
I decided Tommy T. needed a big thanky for delivering your Smillin' Sophie;
and so we made it to the six a.m. YARTS bus, pulling into the Visitor's Center around nine.
After refreshing our palettes with some ice cold bottles of Tioga-Sequoia products,
I took him to see Merry and they got to yammerin' about soup kitchens.
(Tommy T. just retired from a local public food service as a cook.)
So I went and bugged Werner to let me recharge my camera's battery,
and was he ever busy with the fed's fleet,
wirin' & measurin' & ohmin', so we sat in the Yosemite Cemetery,
Tommy & me, cuz the battery was dead so where else should we be?
When it was charged up again we shuttled to the Bridge and EC Meadow.
I lost a pair of cheapo reading glasses in my pack the other night.
I have only my old Rx pair. I'm having trouble focusing as a result.
Need to get another pair of reading glasses if I'm going to play this long-range lens and manual focus game well.
I'm not nearly as happy with the results from today's shoot in the meadow,
nor especially from the ride up on the YARTS bus.
