Keep trolling Mr. Drf. You certainly are an expert at that. A+. Five *'s. You most certainly must be a part-time palm reader. Please do not consider it as a full-time occupation. You will then become another burden on the tax payers. A statistic of sorts.
Edit.
Mr. Ed.
I googled your name and came up with a surprise of a life-time. If you are indeed the same individual that is employed at the US Dept of Energy, then the hypocrisy is beyond imaginable. You work for the same Amerikan gov't agency that develops nuclear WMD's in the name of national defense. Talk about a "looser". Now that is sad news.

The warning system has saved countless lives since it was implemented that is a FACT.
This tornado was incredible in terms of it's size and strength. I will wait for the factual numbers in regards to it's size and wind speed and how long the wind speeds were sustained. Unfortunately sometimes tragedy's like todays cannot be prevented--no matter the precautions taken, type of construction, warning systems, etc...this was just a MASSIVE STORM and if you were in it's path NOTHING could save you except LUCK.
I'm thankful for these things based on science (that were lucky enough to have in the U.S. as opposed to the Philippines (where I lived this past year)
1)construction standards
2)warning systems
3)communications for everyone but especially emergency personnel

Granted science has it's victories. That does not give it the right to play god and deem itself infallible and almighty. Exactly what you and the other proponents of GCC here and globally continuously propose it is. There are much bigger fish to fry in order to save the world for today. Not tomorrow. Not in the next 1-3 hundred years. Thousands die world wide daily from causes and diseases that science has yet found remedies for. Why not focus on those real day issues that are killing humanity. Solve them. Not continue with the proliferation of future science fiction political fantasy. Oh the audacity. Certainly.

Knuttcase,
Ed has never hidden his identity.
I no longer think you are "the chief," though your tone and arrogant, verging on sociopathic, disdain for the science while hypocritically misusing the fruits of that science to triumphantly make unsupported claims to score points, are similar to the chief's, but at least the chief was not an anonymous coward and could be googled--and he is a climber.
You're just another run of the mill internet troll.

Troll? Now that is hypocrisy at it's best. Mr.DrF is certainly your king troll on this thread. No match. He is #1. Squeals far worse than a rabbit caught in the talons of a hawk.

but do tell, tell us why you think scientists are the same as politicians?
Each are supported by taxpayers? (Not all scientists, but many if not most, especially in fields like "climate science" where there isn't much of a free market demand for their product.)

I could try to pretend to respect their point of view, but not for long. I have no respect for willful ignorance. These clowns are part of the problem.

What if we take the view that he's trying to make denialists and skeptics look bad? He's actually on our side? It seems to be working.

Of course. The fire is lit and the dance begins. Valiant but fruitless. You claim ignorance on the part of those that do not believe. I would first consider taking your nose out of the sheep in front of you. Then I assure you that you can begin to smell the roses that prevail. They always will. Because they are real. That seriously must smell volatile after a while. Maybe not. Being placed there for a decade or two probably numbs the senses. Oh the horror.

I figure the more they are asked to back up their stance the more they reveal how fuking clueless they are. I always like it when people make themselves look stupid.

Not that I mind a good discussion, but when you take the phrase ignorance is bliss too seriously, it becomes more difficult to achieve lift-off.

the national weather service provided a warning 16 minutes before the tornado hit, the warning was upgraded to "emergency warning" with "heightened language" 5 minutes before the tornado hit. This did give time to get to safety...tragically some of the children died in the school because of flooding in the basement at the school (they drowned). Hoping now to find survivors in the devastation.

Does anyone have a link to studies regarding the severity of weather events like tornadoes and hurricanes that have increased in either number of events or intensity? Seems to me there are more events...
